  1. Thank you for all of this great information, I interviewed earlier this month and I really hope to get accepted into the program. How did the university give you your admission decision? Via e-mail, call, or through paper mail.
  2. Netzi81, thank you for the information. Was your interview set up after the application deadline or before?
  3. Hi everyone, I couldn’t find anything while searching the forums about anyone applying to University of Rochester as a BSN to MSN candidate. I’m applying to the PMHNP program. If anyone has done any of their MSN programs, I would love to hear about your experiences and the admission process.
  4. Hello All Nurses community, I am a new grad RN that has newly passed the NCLEX. I have been fortunate enough to recieve two job offers. The first one is working in a medical step down unit in a major academic hospital and the other one is a MICU position is at a level 1 trauma center, but it is significantly smaller than the major academic center. Right now, my goal is to become a really good nurse. Perhaps in the future go into nursing education. I never thought that I would even have these two opportunities as a new grad. In the step down unit the nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 and in the MICU it is 1:2. I really like the excitement of critical care. On the stepdown unit, I would get some experience with vents, telemetry and insulin drips. The orientation for both positions both include an extensive orientation period for new graduates with lectures and simulation labs. I guess does it matter? Do "Brand Name" hospitals produce better nurses? I know these questions are subjective, but I would love to hear thoughts and opinions.
  5. Hi everyone, this is a new program. I just applied and interviewed with the dean. Has anyone else? From the open house, the program has rolling admissions and the deadline is sometime in March.
  6. Yes, I received the admission status of please contact admissions office, but I unfortunately recieved a letter rejection in the mail.
  7. You can see your admission status when you log in to the Molly Lion Den portal. Click Admissions and on the left hand side there will be a link for "Admission Status". There it will tell you if you're missing anything from your application and your status.
  8. While waiting to receive confirmation for the screening exams, did any of your admission statuses change to "Please contact admissions office"?
