I would recommend sending an email to one of the nursing program advisors or calling.

I was placed into GWCC/ASU evening cohort. I live in downtown phoenix if anyone ever wants to form a study group!

I selected ASU and GWCC evening as my first choice, following by GCC evening, and MCC afternoon. The only reason I selected ASU is because I work there and receive reduced tuition. Good luck everyone!

Maricopa Comm College CEP Fall 2017 Applicants
I just emailed the advisor today and they said I can submit both on the same day as long as my pre-reqs are completed. I have everything finished, just the Hesi. Thanks!

Awesome! Quick question - so the last thing I need to do is take the hesi, which I plan to do when GWCC opens the first week of January. Do you know if I am able to submit my CEP application the same day as I submit my general nursing app? Or do I first need to wait to receive a timestamp?

Maricopa Comm College CEP Fall 2017 Applicants
Yeah, I met with an advisor yesterday and am aware of Jan 31st deadline - I just hope they don't place everyone before I apply (that's the neurosis in me). I plan to take the Hesi first think Decemer (don't have any time to do it before hand) and banking on not having to retake it. A lot of leaps of faith going on. I'm trying to get into the evening cohort at GWCC....

Me! I have to wait until my grades are released in December before I can finish my application - hopefully it won't be too late!

CEP schedule ?
Thanks! And are clinicals every week? I definitely think I can get my schedule to be flexible - like going in at 7 am every day to leave early. And PTO for clinicals is no problem for me! I have no life. hahahaha I really want to go into nursing and will do whatever it takes - even leaving my job if I have to but I really want to try to make it work.

CEP schedule ?
Hello, What has been your experience in the ASU-maricopa CEP program as far as the class schedule goes? I work at ASU and would really like to continue working fulltime during school as I get a huge tuition break - and I can't afford to finance my second bachelor's. My goal is to get my DNP and become a nursing faculty member, and I feel as though many programs prefer a BSN. My work schedule is usually monday-friday with some events happening on Saturdays. I'm curious if clinicals can ever take place on Sundays? Thanks for any input!

Post-bac BSN scholarships
Hi all, I am new to this community, so I apologize if this question is a repeat. Anyways, I graduated from UofA in 2011 with my B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. My gpa was just under 3.6. After graduation, I worked in informal STEM education outreach, managing our school programs and staff that delivered the programs. This was through our science center in Phoenix. About 6 months ago, I joined ASU's school of engineering as a K12 outreach event coordinator. I work with various faculty members on a variety of projects, with the main goal to provide access to under represented groups to get them interested in STEM fields. Over the past 2 years, I have been slowly working on my pre-reqs for the post-bac BSN program at ASU. Almost there! And I've held a 4.0 in all of my post-bac classes. I can't afford to pay for school out of pocket, so my question is this. What do the scholarship opportunities look like for individuals pursing a second bachelors to go into nursing? My end goal is to get my DNP and work in hospital, clinic, and higher education settings. I have an entire year to prepare, as I won't be eligible to begin the 12 month BSN program until Spring of 2018. I'm just curious if anyone has any advice for me. Should I apply for FAFSA due on October 1st for 2017-2018 school year, even if I don't know that I'll be attending the BSN program for sure? How soon should I begin applying for scholarships? What if I apply to a scholarship but I don't know about my placement into the program into late into 2017? Any advice will be a HUGE help. The program will set me back 20K which scares the life out of me, as I have no financial assistance from my family - and if fact sometimes I have to support them. Thank you!
