  1. Thank you for the feedback, It definitely helps. I am currently volunteering at a local hospital, taking pre reqs, and studying for the TEAs. I am determined to go to nursing school, so it does help to hear the GPA is not necessarily a deal breaker. I am in the NYC area, so I am looking for programs around here.
  2. Thanks! I am local and I am taking pre reqs at NCC so I will definitely pick up a book. This definitely gives me an idea of what to expect. I definitely want to make sure I do as well as possible, which is stressful.
  3. Thank you guys so much. This really made me feel better as I was concern reading some other threads that 3.5 seems to be the cut off. How did you guys prepare for the TEAs? I am thinking of buying an online course and book that targets 3 months worth of studying. I am concerned about the science section mainly. Thank you guys! This definitely helped me.
  4. How long should you study before taking the exam, would you say?
  5. Thank you @AngelKissed857 ! I have been reading about schools in my area in Long Island NY, and was worried when I was hearing that although schools post 3.0 as minimum, the reality is that they accept 3.5 +. So it does help to know that the gpa may not be a deal breaker. I have had to administer cpr and I was a first responder at a situation at a local best buy because I am cpr certified. I have good instincts to high critical situations, and I felt it would be a shame that I could not be a nurse because of my gpa.
  6. Hi all, I will present a quick background. I have an undergrad GPA of 3.4 and a grad GPA of 3.9, both in History. I wanted a career change so I wanted to apply to nursing school. I have been a lifeguard since I was 17 and I will be turning 26 soon. I was wait listed at a private institution and it was the only program I applied to. I want to know if I could get into a Nursing program with my low GPA. I am looking into taking pre reqs and I wonder if my gpa is a deal breaker, that I should not waste my time? I REALLY want to become a Nurse. I just need a little guidance and truth to the reality of my situation. Thank you all.
  7. So having a 3.4, its unrealistic to get into nursing school then?
  8. Hi all, I am interested in applying for Adelphi's ABSN. I am planning on taking pre reqs at NCC this Spring. I have none of the pre reqs but plan on doing three courses each semester, Spring, Summer, Fall. I was wondering, for the ABSN do I still need to take the TEAS? Also how has the admission process at Adelphi been for you? Thanks!
  9. Hi All, I am interested in applying to Farmingdale. Would you all mind telling me what your gpas were? I am worried that with my gpa I may not get accepted into any school. Thank you!
  10. Hey I was put on the waitling list too. I was trying to figure out a way to private message you. Have you heard anything yet?
  11. Hi I also received a letter in the mail telling me about the exam dates. I called and they told me that you just show up and take the exams. I was also wondering if receiving this letter meant anything in terms of being accepted. Good Luck!
