Different roles for CNS's??? Come on guys share what you do!
Ok..so we are now officially off topic! I was really just asking about your personal likes and dislikes about the role. Because I am trying to find out ,more than I know now, about the role. This is only one source. I know you are not discouraging me-and this is what I am doing, looking into all my options. And before posting here I have looked at them all, believe me. So what do you like and dislike about your role?

Different roles for CNS's??? Come on guys share what you do!
Thanks for the replies. In response to "How did you decide that you want a peds CNS MSN if you don't know what peds CNSs do and what you can do with that degree?" I know I want to work with children, from my past experiences, I am completely sure about this. Since this is a second career for me I am limited as to where I could apply and SFSU is close by and affordable. I have been researching online here, and other sites as well as speaking to professors and other nurses. I will look into shadowing a Pediatric CNS. I posed the question to find out more about specific personal likes and dislikes about the role. Because I do not want to go through the program and be unhappy with the role. BTW, I am also considering an accelerated BSN program. Thanks again.

Different roles for CNS's??? Come on guys share what you do!
Hi everyone,I have been accepted to SFSU's Generic Masters program, accelerated RN followed by CNS in Pediatrics. I am trying to gather more information as to what opportunities would be available to me with this degree. I've read all of the posts but I still can't seem to get a firm grasp of the CNS role. This is a second career for me, coming from a desk job, I am interested in hands on patients care and working with families. I also have a strong interest in science, especially physiology. What are some of the pros and cons of the CNS degree? Thanks!

Applying to Sacramento State's ASBSN Summer 2008
Ok so I just called the FAFSA people and basically if you already have a bachelor's degree but no graduate degree you should be able to get loans for a second bachelors. If you have a graduate degree there is no going back to the undergraduate degree loan pool. I have not confirmed this with Sac State y

I understood the same as you with regards to student loans, as long as you have not met the limit you are good. Maybe call the fin aid office and ask? I'd be curious to know if we are correct in our assumptions.

Applying to Sacramento State's ASBSN Summer 2008
Hi I have been lurking here and there. I got in to the ABSN at Sac State, but am also waiting to hear from SFSU's Generic Masters--I wish they could tell us sooner than late April.

SFSU MSN Generic Masters?
Has anyone applied to this program for 2008? Looks like they do not notify until late April...

Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?
Hi, I know it is early, I am planning on applying to UCSF next year and I had a couple of questions: I read on a different thread that UCSF won't even look at you if you do not have direct patient experience. I come from a completly different background. And do you mind sharing your GRE scores or ball park number? Thanks
