  1. Hi Mumai, I received an email, 7 days ago, from the NVC saying they have all the required documents and I'm now in the queue waiting to know about my interview date. How long was, for you, before you got your interview? thanks
  2. Hi Mumai, my documents are now with the NVC and my IV application has been done one week ago. My date always been current...I hope everything is ok and to have my interview date soon...regards!
  3. tell me about it.... in Italy i worked in a ward with up to 33 patients and two nurses, in the night shift, many of them on telemetry and with various heart conditions.
  4. I'm sorry but from where I am, California, overall, doesn't really seem a good place to be now. There are slums everywhere and it is way too easy to become homeless...
  5. Yes they do...same in Italy and we have some kind of nurse/patients ratio but it is in low level of acuity wards about 10/12 patients per nurse. In some skilled nursing facility with low acuity patients we got up to 40/50 per nurse.
  6. Ciao Matteo, I too am an italian nurse and I'm about to leave for the US in a few months. First of all do you have a valid US licence?
  7. Hi SilentRain, yes you need clinical hrs in pediatrics/obstetrics, psychiatry and community nursing among the others...I had my CES report, passed nclex last july and had my visa screen. I started the whole process in 2016, it is costy but after my internship in arizona i fell in love with the american way of nursing and i believe it is worthy the time and the money. I'm now in the final, hopefully, leg of my immigration process. Best of luck
  8. Ciao Vanikiki, I'm an italian nurse, I passed my nclex july 2017. Then it took me a while to find someone willing to give me a job but I did it and now I'm in the final process of getting my immigration visa. What spidersweb said is right except that I didn't have two yrs of acute care experience (in total 17 months in acute/semi-acute wards). my suggestion is to study english very well (you'll need a good score on your IELTS) and to get your degree recognized by the CGFNS you will need theory and clinical hrs in Pediatrics/Obstetrics, Psychiatry and Community Nursing among the others...(at least these are the departments in which I had to do extra clinical hrs since I hadn't done it during the school). Good luck
  9. Hi Mumai. honestly I hope it will take a little longer, we wouldn't be ready to leave that early. Anyway my DS 260 has not been done yet! Again, thank you for your advice.
  10. Hi Mumai, thanks for your reply. So it should be like 4 months max, starting february 10, before I can be leaving for the US, if everything is ok. Regards.
  11. Hi All, i'd like your feedbacks on this matter: my I-140 has been approved and now my case has been transferred to the NVC. How long does it take, usually, to get a reply by them and how long before to get a visa number and following appointment at the consulate? My date is current btw...thank you all in advance.
  12. There were times in the past I didn't feel free to express my opinions
  13. i'm just wondering why you weren't so shocked when Obama banned words like Christmas...
  14. I don't believe it was done by trump admin..it just a way to discredit his administration
  15. I graduated from Uni Bologna Too. My degree was not comparable and i had to take some additional clinical hours in some nursing areas. After that My degree was deemed comparable and i had the "go" from the Board of Nursing to take the NCLEX. A couple of months ago i signed a contract, after few interviews with different agents, and now i'm going through the immigration process. I don't Know How it Works in Canada but if you want some infos about US Write me in private and i'll give you My email.
  16. Hi Casoclinico. I'm an italian nurse myself. I took my NCLEx and got my US licence just a few months ago. What i can say is that I had to have my italian licence recognized by CGFNS before being allowed to take the NCLEx exam. I fear that it is, more or less, the same story with Canada. You probably need to check with the local Board of Nursings what are the requirements to have your italian licence recognized. In bocca al lupo!
  17. I tried direct hire but they require many yrs of Experience or they don't do direct hire. I believe i will sign with Avant. They seem good persons
  18. Dear allstarnurse1, thank you very much For your feedback. I received a contract a few days ago and I'm now going through it before signing. I really would love to Know How much i should pay Avant in case of a breach of contract but i suppose we'll never Know...best regards
  19. Hi all. Thanks For your feedbacks. I was sent a contract a few days ago and I'm in the process review to decide if signing or not. Anybody knows How much is For breach of contract? For another agency is 45.000 usd more or less...
  20. So what do you guys think, overall, about Avant? They seemed good people to me...
  21. I just had another look at the I-140 form and yes only if you have a master degree or "super powers" you can self apply...
  22. Ok, but why an international agency is asking me if i have already applied For the I-140?
  23. Sure about that? Why does it says on the I-140 that one can self apply? That i don't understand...
  24. Hello all. I'm an italian educated nurse. I passed my NCLEX last month and I'm actually waiting for my VS to be issued by CGFNS. In the meantime am I supposed to fill the I-140 and self applying? It seems, reading the I-140 infos form, that RNs can self apply for the i-140. What do you know about it? Many thanks.
  25. Happy for you. Best of luck
