Quitting the StaRN program?
I wouldn't sign it. I was with HCA for a year and a half and it was terrible. I left early as a StaRN and they are asking me for repayment.. even though they let me go PRN during the contract, which it should have been voided at that point. It is a terrible place to work, and I have heard that most HCA's are like that. They pray upon new nurses and get them to sign-- that is how they get staff! I know it sometimes seems like you can't get hired another way as a new nurse but you can.. it just take patience.

I disagree.. I say RUN! Are they making you sign a contract? I was a StaRN at HCA in South Carolina for a year and a half and it was absolutely terrible. I left early, it is not worth it. There are plenty of jobs, even for new nurses. Feel free to send me an email at eliz84c at aol and I would be happy to talk to you more about it.

Roper St Francis New Grad Interview
Hello, I saw your posts on here and was hoping you might be able to help me out a bit! I am currently living in Texas, just graduated from nursing school and was looking at applying at MUSC, or anywhere around Charleston! I saw that you said you accepted a position at MUSC, How do you like it? I'm just wondering if it is going to be difficult for me to find a job there since I don't live there. Thanks for your help :)
