  1. I would leave because I'm sick of mandatory education that is only held in the day hours. I am a strictly night person and asking me to stay over or come in to a class in the middle of my sleep... driving me nuts. My daughter has an attorney on speed dial to call if I fall asleep on the way home from this nonsense and either kill myself or kill someone else because of "driving drowsy".
  2. More nurses are stating they have driven drowsy and had near misses and actual collisions while driving home from a mandatory meeting or some mandatory education that was only offered in the day hours. There are more articles on the web this year about driving drowsy and the dangers than ever before. Hospitals need to offer their mandatory education either by DVD or during the night shift. Asking a nurse to sleep in her car until the class starts or to go home after a 12 hour shift and sleep for two hours and then get up/shower and return to work for some 2 hour mandatory.. ridiculous. They wouldn't ask a day shifter to get up at 1130 pm and come in for a class from midnight to 0200 would they? This is a great dissatisfaction marker for nurses. I am worried about getting killed on the way home from the minute I see that mandatory class pop up on the board. How many people have to be injured or killed to stop this nonsense? The best part... do you really think these nurse that have already worked 12 hours or have to get up pin the middle of their night will retain a single thing you presented... not!!!
  3. Reframe, just sit there and think "I work 3 days a week, I don't pay for dry cleaning, I make very good money, I can do one of 100 different jobs with my nursing degree, nurses are one of most respected professions contrary to these negative creeps, I can work all over the world... yes nursing is my super power a--hole what is yours? When these creeps are sick and in the ER their nasty words will come back to haunt them. Let people think it is easy - if anyone in their stupid honey-boo-boo family was smart enough to get into nursing school, they would know this isn't easy. Remember Ron White's motto.... you can't fix dumb and add to it the ER motto.. but you can sedate it!
