  1. Just got the email about orientation being on August 6-7 and the information on our scrubs/polos. I am getting excited to start the program with you all but getting a little nervous now.
  2. You are for sure in. I asked the GEPN coordinator about that lol. He also sent me an acceptance letter as a pdf a week after I got the initial email. It requires you to choose whether or not you accept the offer of admission. Congratulations! I am excited to meet you in the FNP track!
  3. I interviewed for Pediatric specialty track and felt like my interview went surprisingly well. It was more like a conversation and mine lasted around 21 minutes :)
  4. Also keep in mind that some people who applied to the program and got accepted may turn down the offer due to getting into more than one program. I would still apply if possible because you never know if a slot opens up.
  5. I haven't received a letter yet, but I got an email last week Friday at around 9:50 am Hawaii time. I called Chris and he said I should receive a letter in the mail as well and that he will call me with a bunch of info at that time on what we need to do next.
  6. Anyone have any idea how long after the interview we have to wait for final decisions?
  7. I got accepted to the DNP-FNP track with a 3.5 undergrad GPA and a 4.0 graduate GPA. I think I remember from information sessions that they focus more on undergrad GPA though. I do have 7 years of healthcare experience in the Navy as well so maybe that is what they looked mostly at. Hope this helps.
  8. Perfectly stated!
  9. Yay! I got an interview for the PNP specialty track on December 6th! Congrats everyone!
  10. I got the email at 9:49 am yesterday from Mr. Stutes. The email said "We are pleased to inform you that you have been recommended for admission to the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing for Fall 2019." I applied September 1st to the FNP track.
  11. Just got an email that I've been admitted to the program! So excited!
  12. The first wave of decisions should come out tomorrow for those of us who applied early September! Good luck everyone!
  13. I'm hoping the decisions will be sent out by this coming Friday! Can't wait!
  14. Thank you so much for laying out your schedule for me. My family is extremely supportive so they would do great with any schedule that is similar to yours. Also for everyone who applied, I called admissions on Friday and they said interview decisions will be sent out this coming week.
  15. Does anyone have any idea on how many slots there are for the FNP track?
  16. Hello everyone! I applied to the PNP track and I'm hoping to hear some good news next month. Best of luck to everyone. For any current GEPN students did you find the program difficult for students with families? What are your typical hours? Thanks!
  17. Yeah from previous posts I noticed people receiving decisions as early as October 27th. Hopefully it's that early this year too.
  18. Awesome! I hope you get selected as well. I just received an email that they are forwarding my application to the admissions committee for review.
  19. Aloha! The application cycle opened a few days ago and was wondering if anyone else is applying to the University of Hawaii's Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN) for fall 2019? For any current students in the program, how is the first year of the program? Do you find it difficult to maintain a work/life balance? I'm excited to finally be applying for the DNP-FNP program! Good luck everyone!
  20. Hmm my mom works in Atlanta as an RN and makes a $36 an hour. I'm currently working as a Respiratory Therapist and I started at $31 an hour in Washington state. $22 is way too low for a registered nurse.
  21. Did anyone take the prerequisites online? Oh and did anyone have letters of recommendation?
