It's not a matter of how I feel. I'm simply questioning the approach on the subject. Are we not taught as health care providers to not play along with a patient's delusions? This is the problem right here. Gender is a social construct from what I can gather and Sex is referring to your genitalia. Ok. The suicide risk post op is incredibly high, the DSM V says for treatment it recommends hormone blockers and surgery if counseling does not work, children can be diagnosed with gender dysphoria which is ridiculous! It is. Gender dysphoria while tragic to be diagnosed with. the treatments are questionable! It is on the same level as agreeing with someone that is delusional that they are an astronaut! While I'm sure you can say I'm wrong and quote the DSM V by the APA keep in there are loop holes. Loopholes So there's standard protocol in an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) where paramedics mop up the gore, the blood, the ****, the piss etc. They clean up congealed blood on the patient, make an assessment, give that assessment to the Doctors and Surgeons performing on that patient and then it's taken from there. I worked at a Mental house and we had a trans client who claimed to be a woman (but was really a man in drag which is what they call 'transitioning' now). He was bunked with the guys and not the women.

Maybe there was no ill will intended. There are several local EMS agencies in my area with the mindset that if its not life threatening but still serious then have a loved one take you to the hospital or ER and get treated and spare you the cost of an ambulance ride if it can be avoided.

Nah I was pretty spot on. Yes CPR is first line treatment just like direct pressure. But there are also plan Bs like in ACLS CPR with medications. Or if bleeding does not stop with pressure then tourniquet.

Just like in Cardiac Arrest you want drugs, AED, and CPR. (Drugs can be substituted in for another drug i.e plan Bs) If direct pressure doesn't work then tourniquet. Not hard.
