What's Your Best Nursing Ghost Story?
Not really a ghost story but I worked on a behavioral health unit during nursing school. Every morning we would ask the patients how they were feeling emotionally on a 1-10 scale (suicidal patients were most common on that unit). I asked one patient, a middle aged man in his mid 50s, no serious health issues except being depressed/suicidal, how he was feeling. He said he felt like a 3. I asked him what was bothering him and he said "I don't really know, I just don't feel very good today." He went down the hall to his room and I went on about my business. A few minutes later he came back up to me and said that one of our geriatric patients had wandered down into his room. I went down there to get the geriatric patient. I had just gotten the geriatric patient back to his own room and sat down to begin charting. The middle aged man's roommate came running out of the room and told us to come quick his roommate had passed out. He had a massive MI. We coded him for about 30 minutes but we couldn't get him back. It just freaked me all the way out that he knew something wasn't right and had a massive MI not even 15 minutes later.

Failed NCLEX at 133 questions.. First attempt
UWorld for sure!! I failed my first attempt. I had a Kaplan class and I bought the Qbank and did all of the questions. I didn't like Kaplan's rationales, but UWorlds are completely different! It's a content review just in itself! Read all the rationales-even if you get the question right. I was exactly like you, I felt sad and defeated and like a failure. UWorld is 100% worth the $60 dollars!

Nclex in 2 weeks... feeling defeated:(
my advice is that if you are debating changing the date and you truly don't feel ready, I would go ahead and change it. I debated changing mine, kept it and ended up failing. I knew I wasn't ready but I took it anyways hoping I'd pass. I wouldn't push it back too far though, maybe just another week or two at the most.

Nclex attempt 4 -6/27/16 Need Advice
Just wondering, how long does it take to receive your ATT the second time? after graduation it took a few weeks to get mine, but they have all my information already so I would assume it would be a little quicker?

2 weeks later
I took my Nclex two weeks ago, Monday June 27th. My state is very fast on updating the board website, people will test at 8am on a day and their results will be available by noon the same day. I was patient and didn't check the day of testing, but started checking the next day. It wasn't updated by Thursday so I called the BON and all they told me is that they are updated as they are received, which I understand. But the results still weren't posted yesterday, and that was two whole weeks since I tested. I called them back and finally got them to transfer me to the person who directly updates the website. She told me that she had my results and would mail them to me. I asked about the website and she told me she didn't know when that would be updated. So I was finally a little relieved that maybe I had an answer. Then, my classmate who tested the same day as me and was in the same situation texted me and told me she called also and the lady updated her results online as she was on the phone. So again I called the board and asked about them being updated online and the lady said she mailed them to me and I told her about my classmate's being updated by her and asked if mine could be too. She kept saying that she couldn't make any changes to my results...finally I just said why can't mine be updated when you updated my classmates just a few mins ago (probably a little rude but its been 2 weeks and I was tired of not getting an answer). She then said "I can't update your status online because you don't have the same results as your classmate" which means I failed. But that doesn't make sense either because my state updates your status online just as fast if you failed as it does when you have passed. Has anyone else had a situation like this? Failing the Nclex clearly sucks but waiting for 2 weeks and trying to get an answer but not being able to sucks even more.

does it take longer to update if you failed?
nobody that I know who also took it Monday have gotten their results yet, but people who tested Tuesday/Wednesday already know so I'm guessing at this point it has to be like a technical thing? It's the only logical thing I can think of. I've probably refreshed my state's BON site atleast 1000 times lol

does it take longer to update if you failed?
I did contact them and they said "they are updated on the website as they are received" which makes sense and I totally get that but I asked her how then did someone who took it a full day after me have results up the same day when its been more than 48 hours for mine? and all she said to that was that they were updated in the order they are received . and no I don't have quick results in my state

Still. NothingðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Still. NothingðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I'm not in Ohio but I also took mine 6/27 at 8am and still have heard nothing. I know two people who took it 6/28 at 8am and theirs was posted a few hours after they tested. The other 2 people I know who also took it 6/27 haven't been updated either. Wonder if it has something to do with the 27th like maybe they are reviewing the tests or something? my state is super fast updating the BON site, it's almost unheard of here to wait over 48 hours with no update. and then the people who tested a full day after me are already updated.

does it take longer to update if you failed?
So I took the Nclex yesterday (6/27) at 8am. I had all 265 questions so I really don't know how I did. My friend took hers today at 8am and her status on the board of nursing updated to active within a few hours. I took mine 24 hours after hers and it still says temporary, my state switches it to inactive if you fail. So my question is, does it take longer for them to update the board of nursing site if you failed?
