  1. Hi Smurfy! Are you in the traditional daytime program at Gateway? If you are, you and I are in the same classes. I feel horrible that some people in our class are being mean to you. Unfortunately we don't have alot of time to get to know each other during classtime. Why don't you stay on campus during lunch and join some other students and get to know them. (But not the ones that were mean to you of course). Perhaps you can find a study partner/group that meets at school or at a halfway point. There are a lot of friendly and interesting people in our class. Don't let an experience with a few students make you unhappy. Nursing school is very stressfull but it can be very fun as well. Send me a private message if you would like to talk some more about what is going on.
  2. Hi Thrashej, I took Patho online thru Rio and it wasn't too bad. I had also taken A&P II online and it was really tough. I had the instructor everyone was warned about. I took Patho over the summer and it was my only class. I think as long as you don't fall behind in your reading and assignments you can do really well. I always try to work ahead so I have some extra study time for exams. If I were you I would do patho online and work ahead so you can be finished by the time nursing school starts. Most of the instructors will let you send in your assignments ahead of time and then you can try to finish early. I took all of my coreqs before nursing school starts so I wouldn't have to worry about them during the program. I start ns in January at Gateway. Good luck to you. Hope this helps.
  3. Hi There, I know of two catholic schools in the are you are looking into. St. Daniels Church has an elementary school and they are in zipcode 85257 in Scottsdale. St. Theresa's church also has an elementary school and they are in zipcode 85018 in Phoenix. Both of these areas are a pretty easy commute to Sky Harbor Airport. I don't know anyone who has sent their children to these particular schools so I can't give you any information on good or bad experiences but I hope this helps you out a little bit. Good luck in your search and welcome to Arizona.
  4. Hi Smurfy, I have also been placed in Gateways Spring of '06 Day Program. I haven't heard anything yet about orientation or class times. I took a look at the schedule for spring and it looks like we will have class on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday but I could be wrong. I was going to wait a little bit and if I didn't hear anything I was going to call Betty Cleveland in the advising department. I am so excited to start I can barely stand it. I had a semester wait also, so I took some of the co-reqs while I was waiting. Gateway was my first choice so I was really surprised when I got in. I hope some other people who are going to Gateway in the spring start to post on this board. It would be great to get to know some of our classmates before we get started. Nanikins
