A Headache is not an emergency
The OP needs to take a chill pill. If the ER stresses you as much as it comes across in your comments maybe it's time to retire or find a less stressful job.

Incinsiderate Families
First off, spell check is your friend. Secondly, what an idiotic comment regarding what the family members actions might have been after they left. "I guess more little old ladies to upset or a child or two to run over" What a very insensitive and callous thing to say about a family who is grieving. Thirdly, way to go in making it all about yourself and much easier it would be if you have the chance to medicate her before the news. I guess some people are just naturally cold and callous.

A Headache is not an emergency
My sister has migraines and has been going the botox route at her neurologist. Not sure if they really work. I had a neighbor who said they did nothing for her. Oh, and the local hospital puts migraine sufferers in the fast track when it is open.

Am I a bully?
Maybe it's the way they said it?

Am I a bully?
There is ALWAYS 3 sides to a story. Somehow the truth is in them.

A Headache is not an emergency
What's funny is that I get that kind of pain right before I have a bowel movement and once I go the crampy pain is gone till the next time. Stress also seems to make it bad. I hate it.

A Headache is not an emergency
My point was that when a woman goes to the ER with abdominal pain they automatically assume it is some kind of "woman problem". That was what happened to me back in the early 90's when I had a huge bleeding duodenal ulcer. Had so many pelvic exams before someone finally figured out my pain had nothing to do with my ovaries and uterus. They shouldn't automatically assume that when a woman comes to the ER with abdominal pain. How does your Mom know when it starts? My symptoms both times were bad pain. Other than that I was basically okay.

A Headache is not an emergency
I have diverticulosis and I know when I have acute abdominal pain I need to get to the ER for a CT scan. I found out last year and my GI doctor told me that if I had pain on my left side I needed a CT scan. Well, had no clue as to what kind of pain he was talking about until my first attack of diverticulitis earlier this year. BAD pain. REAL BAD PAIN. I woke up in the morning and it was so bad I felt I was going to pass out. It was horrible and I ain't joking. I went to the ER and had diarrhea a few times but the doctor totally dismissed me and never ordered a CT scan and they even got my symptoms wrong even though I stated I had diverticulosis and had BAD pain in my lower left side. Sent me home. In March I wound up in the ER again in bad pain. I went out for breakfast and started to feel wonky and then at Walmart I almost passed out again. But it passed and since I feel stupid for going to the ER and wasting their time after so many bad experiences I let it go but when I started to feel bad later that day I decided to go. Saw the same doctor in triage and basically told him off. He said that maybe I should see another doctor and I said yes. Luckily she listened to me about my symptoms and that I had diverticulosis and ordered a CT scan. Had antibiotics for 2 weeks and haven't had a flare up since. So even abdominal pain can be serious without it having to be due to our "special pieces and parts". And to the people who get upset because people come to the ER for "just a headache". I would not let your disdain show towards them because if they are like me next time they won't go because of how they were made to feel and it might wind up being something really serious.

5-year-old chooses heaven over hospital
I actually find that person to be quite offensive as a fellow atheist. We're not all like that. I have my views but I would never try to shove them unto someone else just because I am so conceited to believe "I am ALWAYS correct".

Keep it up. You are coming across as a bitter hateful person. But maybe that's what you want.

5-year-old chooses heaven over hospital
It's YOUR reality. Other people have faith in there being someplace to go after they die. It's what keeps them going during times of stress and just bad times. I'm sorry that your atheism has clouded your opinion so much that you come across AS a hateful atheist. I feel sorry for you. And for the record, I too, am an atheist but I am not a hateful one who believes my way of thinking is the only way. And I also don't try and shove my opinion onto others when it comes to my beliefs. People like you give atheists a bad name.

Aggressive Dementia Patients
Doesn't the family or guardian have to approve such measures? I ask this because I have seen numerous aggressive dementia patients at the locked facility a family member was in and they did nothing when one was hitting other residents and another used her walking canes on others just because she felt like it.
