  1. I'm glad you're OK. I worked 15+ years with the American Red Cross, and I can tell you, I still want to "jump and run" to the scene whenever disaster strikes. It just "gets in your blood" and never leaves. I'll wager a bet that everyone who had the opportunity to help in even the slightest way will remember it for the rest of their lives, and will have the same response I do whenever they see/hear of people who could use some help.   3. New to this website, but felt compelled to register and respond to this issue..... bottom line is, or should be, what is the hospital's policy regarding any infraction? Surely, there should be clear guidance per policies so the nurse manager can respond appropriately per hospital policy and, thus, this becomes a moot point. The employee would know up front what the consequence is for an action (or inaction), the employee's supervisor would know, and etc., etc., etc. Make sense?
