  1. As a nurse caught in the middle and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I want to say thank you to all of the nurses who have come and donated their time and skills to us. You will never realize how deep our gratitude will always be. You took time from your families, jobs, and lives to help us survive. You brought water, supplies and hope and for that we will always remember you and hold you each dear in our hearts. This is truly the best country in the world. Thanks again Amy Biloxi, Mississippi
  2. that's good to know and thank you. I took it yesterday and made a 990 on my verbal and quant. 440/550 respectively. I submitted my scores so I hope there is still hope in my future. UAB is not the only school I'm applying to. do you have any further suggestions? My GPA is a 2.9 overall but a 3.6 in my BSN program. thanks Amy
  3. While I appreciate the difference between Vaso and Xigris, my point to be made was that our findings are that if Xigris is initiated in the earliest detection of sepsis, it makes the need for pressors a mute point. The docs I work with prefer Neo and Levo to keep a MAP >60. I was not comparing the two in heroic measures.
  4. I have used Vasopressin as a last ditch effort for septic shock. Our docs are leaming more toward Xigris. Seems to work wonders if sepsis is detected early enough. By the way, the vasopressin didn't work either.
  5. I take the GRE on Thursday and am somewhat nervous. Does anyone know how UAB weighs GRE results. They say 1000 combined.:imbar
  6. thanks for the response. it's nice to know i'm not alone with this. other CRNA's have said that the essay was the easiest part. My response has been, "Knowing my address and GPA is the easiest part". Congrats on your acceptance.
  7. Well, I take the GRE on Sept. 9th and all of my apps are completed with the exception of my essay. you all know the one- "why do you want to be a CRNA" or "why do you want to go to this school". I, of course, know why I want to be an anesthetist ( and no, it's not only the money) but I am having such a hard time putting it all in to "concise" words. How I do share the enthusiasm, intrigue, of the practice without sounding reheorificed or for lack of a better word- sloppy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I am trying to fill out my applications for CRNA school and all school require an essay- why do you want to be a CRNA, what are your long term goals, why do you want to go to our school, etc. Does anybody have any advice? Any help is soooooooooo appreciated. Thanks Amy
