  1. @ckdb1995 I did some research the selection board meets once a month on the 15th.So, today is the big day for June board (All the best to all). I don't know how long it will take for applicants to be notified. I created the FB group "Navy Nurse FY2020 Applicants" https://m.facebook.com/groups/270080811013344/members/?notif_t=groups_invite_more_people&notif_id=1592150403250816&ref=m_notif
  2. The steps after selection: 1- Sign more documents for commissioning 2-Wait for the official Oath of Office "scroll" which can take a few weeks or months (60-90 days) 3- Swearing Ceremony. I'm sure it might be virtual due to COVID-19. 4- Choose a date for ODS. You will work with a detailer from this point forward. 5- Attend ODS! @ckdb1995 I hope the Navy still have plenty of ICU billets left for the June and July boards. I was told that the selection board meets twice a month, can you double check with your recruiter? Please keep me posted. We can also keep in touch on facebook as well if you want. What do you think if we create a fb group for NAVY FY2020?
  3. That's great! Congratulations. Four weeks ago, my recruiter told me that the Navy added a few ICU slots. 14 ICU billets were left but that was between April and May. We might go to ODS together. According to your recruiter, what will you have to do after you have been selected? I just want to compare what I was told.
  4. @ckdb1995 BTW, I have been getting ready for ODS (Run, sit ups, push ups,& planks) eventhough I don't have a date yet. Plank!! Yes, you read that right; the Navy will change sit ups to planks for the PRT. Check out the FY2020 ODS dates. For me, if everything goes well. I might go to ODS in October 2020 or later.
  5. @ckdb1995 My package was returned because my resume didn't include all my past employments even non-nursing. Also, all the colleges that I attended. FYI, Your resume should match your SF-86 (online background check). I'm hoping to make it to the June board. I was told that it can take 30 days to know about the board's decision. It's a stressful process but I'm praying and waiting. How far are you in the process?
  6. Update: My package was completed last week. I'm currently waiting for the recruiter to submit it to the Selection board. Last month, I was interviewed by 2 Navy nurses. The interviews went well and I received great feedback/advices. The last time I checked with my recruiter, they were only 5 ICU billets available. The process has been stressful but I'm really close. I don't know how the COV19 will after the selection board, commission, order and ODS. Be safe and wash your hands. I'll keep you guys posted. Let me know if you have any question.
  7. Softenny, all the best to you at MEPS today.
  8. Hey MasalaC, Thank you for joining. I was told the FY2020 billets will be out in October. I heard the same thing about the RN and BSN experience but my recruiter said don't worry about it, the Navy has so many openings for ICU RN I should be fine. My primary department is CVICU but float to/care for MSICU patients. I passed my TNCC today, I will float to Trauma ICU as well in a few weeks. I'm a new RN and I love ICU expect Peds ICU ?. I think it's good idea that you're trying to get in as a Med-Surg RN, you can try to get into the ICU again to boost your chance for the Navy. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted.
  9. Hello guys, congrats to all who were selected to the Navy Nurse Corps. To the nurses who are waiting patiently, stay positive! I'm a CVICU RN with only 8 months of experience. I'm also a fulltime online student for my RN-BSN degree, I'll graduate in December 2019. I have been in touch with a recruiter(she's very nice) since February about the process to get in as an ICU Nurse. I'm not a prior service member but I would love to serve as a RN . I was told that I can get started with my medical screening and get through MEPS while I'mwaiting for the FY2020 to come out in October 2019 and graduation. My recruiter won't be able to submit my package until I graduated in December. I'm currently doing my pre-medical screening and working on my credentials and background packages. The recruiter told me that the Navy always has ICU billets but I don't know if that will change because of the healthcare transition. I'll keep you guys updated

  11. Hello guys, I got accepted as well. I created a Facebook group for all the Spring applicants. You can check it out under SJR State College: Nursing Spring 2017. I'm planning to share more things about nursing gear and equipment. #FutureNurses
