  1. I know its a shame, because the nurse educators, be very mindful of them. They are not on your side. especially the Critical care educator... you know her name! The hospital is very understaffed, never enough equipment, I am a new grad with no experience so for me it was a complete shock!!! CCU float is cool, 6th floor gets covered by the ED director, so be mindful of him, if u have a brain he gets mad and makes you clock out for "being rude". he likes sheep to manipulate LOL.... never had bedside experience, somehow manages hospital units. crazy world.
  2. What position did you end up going for? Please let me know your experience at what ever hospital you have picked.
  3. Honestly, everything was fine until you go to the floors after 2 week in the classroom after that it WAS NOT. Directors and managers are rude, disrespectful, have no bedside experience. They Bully nurses, Senior nurses have a lot of control and make it a toxic environment. Often times the Units are very understaffed, no equipment ( PUMPS TO RUN FLUIDS)... i can't knock a 175 year old establishment for being rundown, but they are not progressive at all. New comers often LEAVE in horror, its not a good place at all. I have worked in many establishments as a student nurse, and this is by far the most unprofessional, distasteful place. Horrible staff retention, Union representation can't do much for you. Pharmacy is slow, basically if you want to put your license at risk, you found the right place. Each place has its own nonsense. but this TAKES THE CAKE!!!
  4. RUN FROM THIS PLACE, ITS HELL. OMG I LEFT SO FAST! NEVER ANY NEW GRADS COME TO THIS DEMONIC HOSPITAL.!!!!!!!
  5. Hi, So the pharmacology test was 25 questions, the back page was matching drugs to what they do, only 3 med calc, no calculators, the rest was MC, and 3 of which has an " all of the above" options, u need 70% to pass, they do not give u a study guide at all, if you passed nclex and are decent with your pharmacology basics, youll pass! If anyone has info on ED scrub colors, and how orientation was for them? please share thank you!
  6. Hello, I am a new grad who just got offered an ED positions- I went to an open house event they hosted July 31st, it was a wonderful experience and the nurse manger was very friendly, I found out 2 weeks later via email that I have been selected. I am going to come in to take the pharm exam soon, any advice? And anyone care to share orientation with me! thank you so much!
  7. congrats girl
  8. Hey! A new genetics class was opened up, so if anybody was un happy the first time, please be sure to check back one more time
  9. thank you! The last Teas exam was this past weekend so Im sure the new students who need to take genetics will call the department as well! I asked them if they could open up another online course I have a feeling they might end up doing that since more nursing students are about to come in!
  10. I contacted the Biology department, The lady seemed like she tried to help, she said she opened up more genetics class, so when I went to check I still have the same 4 classes on my list! do u see anymore classes? The only change i see the the name of one professor!
  11. Yeah, I contacted the Biology department, they need to open up more seats, the class times they offered for that genetics course was horrible! I believe they will open up more seats, because it is simply not enough, only 4 courses open for genetics and each had about 20/30 seat maximum... So they are going to call me back on this situation! I hope they open another genetics online course!
  12. Course Search This is what I used aside from CLASS.
  13. You can google "Adelphi Course Search" everything is under Biology department, or Nursing depending on what classes you need to take, You can type in the name of the course you are interested in with its corresponding department, that will allow you too see what times are available... Please try to always do self research, everything is available on the adelphi website! Never wait for someone to spoon feed you information, especially if its important for your future! I had to learn to be more proactive and not just listen to hear say, a lot of the information is wrong on these forms!
  14. That is amazing! I will be working on my schedule till the last day I am allowed to finalize it! haha I NEED TO GET THAT GENETICS CLASS! I am not to worried about pathophysiology we need this course we must work hard regardless on who we get! but still it is always a nice cushion too have a good professor haha!
