  1. Great news! Congratulations and God bless you in all your future plans.
  2. Very observant! My wife is visiting the Philippines, and took her test in Manila which is 15 hours ahead of Pacific Time. That's why she already has her Sept 16th results earlier. As far as what helped her pass the NCLEX this time around, she took the Rachel Allen 25 day review course with teaching staff 8 hours every day. www rachellallen com
  3. My wife also took NCLEX on Sep 16th, and passed after taking the full 265 questions. On her previous attempts, she ended the test at 75 and 125 questions. The fact that you got enough correct to make it to 265 questions is encouraging. I wouldn't worry about doing the trick at this point, just pay the $8 for the Pearson Vue Quick Results which should be available 2 business days after your NCLEX. Good luck, and we're looking forward to reading your good news!
  4. Hi, Angel! After failing the NCLEX 3 times in 2016, my wife (who graduated from nursing college and got her Philippines RN license in 2008) finally passed on September 16, 2017 after finishing the full 265 questions in a Makati, Manila test center. All the popular NCLEX textbooks and online websites (Kaplin, Uworld) did not help my wife to adequately prepare for NCLEX; what helped her succeed was 25 days of review in a classroom with teaching staff, 8 hours a day (as well as a lot of prayers to God from her family). I also think leaving the U.S. and studying in the Philippines, while visiting her mother, helped my wife stay focused for the NCLEX. The Rachel Allen course is what she took. If you take it in the U.S. it's around $3000., but in Manila only $600. Of course you still have to pay $1000. for round trip airfare, but you are still saving a little. Good luck, God bless you, and message me when you pass! Here is the Rachel Allen website: www rachellallen com RACHELL ALLEN: NCLEX, UK-CBT, IELTS, HAAD, PROMETRIC, DHA Review Courses - HOME
  5. My wife got her RN degree in Asia in 2008; afterwards, she worked in nurse administration and medical research until 2013 which did not include hands-on patient care. Upon moving to the U.S. she is required to retake the NCLEX to practice as an RN here. On her first attempt, she used the current Kaplan book & CD. On her second try, Kaplan Online and she scored "Near Passing" in all categories. This week, she had their third failure preparing strictly with UWorld Online and Mark Klimek 3-Day audio review. Her main complain was that the questions she had studied were totally different than what she encountered on the actual test. I would imagine that the NCLEX would be much more difficult for someone who graduated from nursing school eight years ago and from a different country. Anyone have tips on how she can better prepare (methods & materials), how many hours she should be studying daily, and how many months she should wait before retaking NCLEX?
  6. Much appreciated, Dranger, your comment is very helpful & encouraging!
  7. Thank you, Dogen, for the very detailed answer!
  8. Hmm, if I was a superhero fighting in Marvel's Civil War, I would side with Captain America who believes in anonymity; so, I really can't disclose what my username means
  9. I am thinking of relocating to that area by OR/WA border, but wondering what the job market was like for new RNs.
  10. MAJOR SPOILERS for those who have not seen THE FORCE AWAKENS: Q: What do you get when you remove George Lucas from Star Wars and replace him with Disney & J.J. Abrams? A: A reboot of 1977's A NEW HOPE with different characters, but same story. Did anyone else feel this way? Even George Lucas said he wasn't pleased with Disney's direction.
  11. I will remember you in prayer. I wish it was as simple as some medical issue (thyroid, hormone imbalance), but I give you all the credit in the world for still doing your job in caring for others while in depths of depression. Hopefully, you'll find a breakthrough soon. Having said that, I would never consider ECT because many experience permanent long/short term memory loss from shock therapy. God bless & take care.
  12. Coincidence! Also in 2012, as trade for my Star Wars marathon, I watched all Harry Potter movies for first time in one week with my wife.
  13. Let us know your thoughts when/if you watch the series. Star Wars is a childhood passport for those who grew up watching the films and playing with the action figures; I think that is why is still remains so popular.
  14. I don't understand why students can be so cliquish when it comes to preferring people their same age, but I have noticed it too in college. I don't think you should dye your hair blue and get tats for acceptance. Just be yourself; you sound like the normal one to me.
  15. More money isn't worth the unhappiness of disliking your career. Try the insurance job; you can always go back to bedside nursing if it doesn't work out. In addition, there are many nurse occupational administration jobs in which you never deal with patients, but still remain in nursing field. Good luck on whatever you decide.
