I'm So Over Nursing. I would rather work at Costco!!
Costco employees do leave I was one of them and am now a RN. Remember that you work 3 days a week and you get to be with your kids as a registered nurse. At Costco I was making $17.00/hour in 2001. But never knew when I would be able to see my kids.

Behind on charting?
So, it's my third day precepting, as a new nurse and I'm beating myself up because I had to stay an hour and a half over to chart my narrative. I had 3 patients on my own and my preceptor had two. By 18:30 I was only at 9:00 on one of my patients. I had a wound vac w a PCA a SI pt. and an abusive pt. with Q2 Dilaudud. My preceptor seemed really irritated. And said I don't think you can handle 3 patients. You are really behind. Feeling like poop any thoughts?

Tell my manager or keep the bipolar hidden
My reason for wanting to disclose is null now that I know I can apply for FMLA via HR and leave mgr. out thx so much!

CNA shame...
Why would you use the word abuse? Is there more to the story than what is shared here?(self reflection) answer not required. If not there is no reason to carry guilt. We are human we all fail we hope at the end of our lives we have touched people and made a positive impact. Remind yourself of each time you have done that instead.

You aren't hijacking, all comments are welcomed. I was not required to disclose in my state however nursing school did have physical and mental health requirements, which I met.

I agree I definitely believe that if we can't advocate for ourselves how can we advocate for our patients, believing that I am not flawed inherently because I have this diagnosis is pivotal. I don't know how to go about starting that. Luckily I have some time until I can sit for the NCLEX and I will be working in a student nurse capicity which Is a much smaller scope of practice(basically a NA). In this 10-14 week time period I will be able to show my work ethic and my ability to work well with others as a team player in a much lower stress level position.
