@Cinderella8825 Did you apply to both NHSC and nurse corps? I got a check in June too. I'm wondering if the programs operate completely separately and if they would do another check, or if both operate from the same one.

I wonder how much the reps are told with all the conflicting info. I've also been following the student doctor network thread about the NHSC scholarship and no one has posted anything about receiving an award yet.

No July check here, only the June 8th check.

Also had a hard inquiry from CREDCO on June 8th. May mean nothing, we will see! Edited to add I applied to both Nurse Corps and NHSC.

Hello everyone, With the NURSE Corps application cycle just having opened, I wanted to start a thread so that we may communicate about the application. I've called them a few times already with questions, and would be happy to share what I have learned. One thing that I was not able to get a clear answer on was the required length of the essays. I read through the pdf guide as well as the online instructions and found conflicting information. The guide states that each essay should be 250 words, but online it says, "Each response should be limited to 5,000 characters or less (approximately ½ page), one page per essay." I called twice to ask about this, and one person said 250 words was ok and the other stated it could be up to 5,000 characters. Since I've heard you can easily be disqualified if you don't follow guidelines, I wanted to see if anyone else has called to ask about this. Thanks in advance, and best of luck to you all!!

Hi all! I'm turning to the nursing community for some feedback regarding a big decision I have to make. I've been fortunate to have been accepted to a couple of great NP programs and now have to choose. One school has a Master's level direct entry PNP program, which is highly ranked. I was also offered a pretty decent scholarship to this program. The other program is an entry level DNP-FNP program that is not ranked highly, but still pretty fabulous. I'm wondering if anyone could provide feedback as to what holds more weight when it comes to getting a position as a new grad- a DNP or a prestigious master's program. I realize experience likely outweighs both of these factors and am more likely to be able to work as a RN in the DNP program. I also should note that I ultimately want to work in pediatrics. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Hi everyone! First time finding this thread. I was accepted into the DNP-FNP program in November but will be relinquishing my spot. I was SO excited about Hawaii (hubby is from Maui), but unfortunately there aren't jobs in his industry. Best of luck to everyone!

I agree, the waiting game is super hard! We (I have a husband and toddler) will be moving from southern California, so I'm anxious to know our fate. Still waiting to hear back from one other school as well. If we do end up moving to Seattle, I will have to pick the brains of those who are local about housing options!

@communityhealthfan--Congrats on being accepted! I greatly appreciate you sharing the information with us as well. Still waiting to hear back myself; I applied for the FNP track. Trying to distract myself until March, which is when I was told FNP decisions are released!

My understanding from last year's thread is that invites were sent throughout the month of February as well. Don't lose hope!!
