  1. I have an interview at JU the same day too! Such a big day - wishing us both the best of luck.
  2. I applied to UF, JU, Belmont, and Villanova as accelerated programs. A bit random, I know. None of these programs required the HESI or TEAS ?? UF is my number one because I grew up a gator fan my entire life and the cost is great. I got accepted to Villanova (which is in Philly) and it's a bit less $$$ than JU; still trying to weigh all the options!
  3. Yes! He said the assessments were basically there way of "interviewing" and getting to know you as a future nurse. From what he told me, they're looking for the qualities it takes to be a nurse and that is how the evaluations go from the assessment
  4. Hey guys, I'm definitely late to this thread, but figured I'd join in on the conversation. I met with Kenneth last week and he was extremely helpful and explained to me that grades aren't all of what the admissions board is looking for. The assessments are a huge part of it which they're currently reviewing. He told me there were over 400 applicants between Gainesville and Jacksonville locations (which terrifies me). My prerequisite GPA is pretty average, as is my overall last 60 hours GPA. UF is my absolute dream, praying I get in! I seriously cannot WAIT for decisions to come out in February, my interview for JU's ABSN program is February 22nd which I'm pretty sure is when we'll be hearing about the UF decisions ?
  5. Do you know what my options would be other than ABSN if I weren't to finish my first degree? What would I apply as?
  6. I am finishing up my Junior year of college with a Marketing degree. I have been taking nursing prerequisites as I would like to attend an Accelerated Bachelor's Program or second degree program. I currently have a 3.16 GPA overall, which is not great, I know. I am getting my CNA certification and will be working as a CNA this summer and all throughout my Senior year plus Medical Scribing part-time. I am looking for information on Accelerated BSN programs and Second Degree programs in the state of Florida, which programs I have the best chance of getting into as I will need to be submitting applications this upcoming fall. Any notable schools along the East coast, southern states, and schools in the Philadelphia region I am also interested in.
  7. oh, all of y'all are so lucky!! I would love to go to FAU nursing, and I was looking to transfer as a sophmore, found out they cut the traditional program after fall 2016. Super bummed, super happy for all of y'all!!!
  8. Hi all, I am currently a freshman at Auburn University. I have taken 25 hours (not many I know), but my GPA is not where it should be to be on track for Nursing School. I have under a 3.0 after this semester. With my GPA, even with getting all A's in remaining courses and even retaking some courses I didn't do so well in, I would not be at the competitive level for Auburn. I know FSU and UF both will take the average of retaken courses (ie. first try got a C, second time got an A, averaged to a B). I do love Nursing and would love to graduate with a BSN, but I am so worried I won't get in anywhere and I'll have to change my major and push my graduation date back even further. I guess my main question is, does anyone have any insight to other BSN programs I should start looking into? What was your GPA getting into these programs?
  9. Hey all! I'm currently a freshman at Auburn and am looking into transferring to UNF because of their nursing program. Did y'all retake classes you didn't do well in? What was your GPA before retaking and after? What other schools did you get accepted to? Also, has anyone considered getting a different bachelors and going back for an accelorated BSN program?
