  1. Loma Linda University CRNA 2019

Sounds like a good problem to have until you're actually paying ~ 2500/month a back for your education.
  2. Loma Linda University CRNA 2019

Working in a rural area sounds good in theory until you're actually living in a rural area. Anyways, good luck everyone.

  4. Loma Linda University CRNA 2019

39 months @ 138k not including cost of living. What's the appeal with this school? Why would anybody want to go here if they weren't geographically tied down to a location?
  5. new grad RN with 2 job offers, what would you do??

If you want to work in ICU, I would go with hospital #2. I work with a couple of former Hoag employees (one of them being an ex-nurse manager), and neither had great things to say, other than that it's in an awesome location. As a new grad, I had 2 o...
  6. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Barry posted outcomes for the graduating class of 2016. There was a 24 percent attrition rate for the class. I'm coming from out of state, so I don't really know anybody who has graduated from the program. I know most of you guys are from FL, so some...

    Same!
  8. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

....tired of checking my email, haha.
  9. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

The interview was quick and easy. It almost seems like not enough time to sell yourself, but overall I got good vibes from the faculty. They were all nice, and they do their best to make you comfortable, which I liked. Even during the interview they ...
  10. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

I asked how many spots they have left in the program and was told 25-30. Maybe some spots opened up because other people accepted offers from other schools? I recently shadowed again and spoke with the director of the program at the place I shadowed....
  11. Should ICU get more pay than floor nursing?!?

Also, a couple of salary sites state that ICU/critical care salaries are 5-7% higher than the average RN salary. Why is this? Are individuals who have worked both the floors and ICU the only ones that are able to deliver an unbiased response to the O...
  12. Should ICU get more pay than floor nursing?!?

I just enjoy debate for the sake of debating. I honestly don't care either way. I don't mean to offend anyone. I'll be the first to say that med/surg is hard work. However, we're all entitled to an opinion. To the individual who asked if ICU housekee...
  13. Should ICU get more pay than floor nursing?!?

I think you missed the point of the post.
  14. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

I guess I misspoke, sorry. I was told 25-30 spots opened up. I assumed incorrectly.
  15. Should ICU get more pay than floor nursing?!?

I've worked both the floor and the ICU. Considering that hospitals charge an arm and a leg for ICU care, and the ICU nurses are with the patient 24/7, I do think that ICU nurses should be paid a least a little more. I base this opinion on hospital re...

Call or email and ask. It's the only way to find out.
  17. CMC- Cardiac Medical Certifcation subspecialty

CCRN and CMC are highly regarded by CRNA ADCOMS. I do know that some local flight programs and ICUs give preference to those with the certification. With that being said, I do think that obtaining the certs did help me learn quite a bit. Could I have...
  18. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

I'll be interviewing as well. Judging from past posts it seems to be a 15 minute personal interview. The email says they're interviewing 30 people within 4 hours, so it'll be interesting to see how long the interview will be.
  19. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Anybody get a call? I'm sure you all will. They're increasing their class size.
  20. Anybody applying for OLOL Doctorate CRNA program for 2017?

I think he means Our lady of Lourdes judging by his last posts.
  21. Anybody applying for OLOL Doctorate CRNA program for 2017?

Hey, how'd your interview go? I'm studying drugs and patho since I really don't know what to expect. Was it a panel interview?
  22. Anybody applying for OLOL Doctorate CRNA program for 2017?

ill be interviewing in a couple of weeks. I mailed my materials back in the beginning of June. Pretty quick response time if you ask me.
  23. Barry CRNA Starting 2017

I was told that they were meeting this week. Not sure when they're sending out calls though. I did get a call to interview at a different school though, which is good news. The school offered me an interview about two weeks after my app was received....
  24. FIU vs FGCU CRNA

I assume you mean the west coast of Florida? If I had the option of staying at home and saving money I would take advantage of it. Don't let fear (questioning whether or not you can get an 85%, wanting a less intense program, etc.) dictate your decis...
  25. Anybody applying for OLOL Doctorate CRNA program for 2017?

    I'll be interviewing here!
