nothing yet?. I did speak directly to a NS manager and she said she would follow up with the residency HR recruiter to schedule me for an interview. I'm still waiting. The in person Grady meet and greet was yesterday and it was a good overview of the program, requirements, etc.

Hello all, I'd like to start a new CHOA thread for May 2025 residency. I just applied today. I thought it opened up in Jan 2025.

Not a nurse (yet) but Sr. Nursing student and I'd love to know more insider info about this program. I've always dreamed of being a NICU nurse and then advancing to NNP, thank's to a NNP who took care of my child. I hope many more answer or provide feedback.

That is true. I was waitlisted last year. There was no 'rejection' letter. Applied again for this year.

anyone have an update on your matriculation thus far? Have you all started clinicals? How have classes and the professors been? Do you feel it's organized?

Just a follow up. I've decided to apply for their ABSN program as I have interest in Advanced Acute Care and will apply to a MSN program. I'm not interested in DNP (at the moment) so this will be the cheapest route for me. Please keep us posted on your experience. When I get accepted (claiming this)m I will share my experience as well.

I am not. I got denied before even 'submitting' my application. LONG story but you can PM if you want to know why. Anyway I took it as a sign. I'm in a respiratory therapy program (14 months). Then work for 2 years and apply to PA/AA school. I took this as a sign or redirect from the LORD above. this program is $8k and can be paid in full via scholarships. It's not the plan I intended for myself but it's less cost out of my pockets and I still will get hands on experience.

That's awesome but geeze for all those credits transferring in it will still take 2.5 years to complete? I will be speaking with an advisor this week to go over my plan. It's awesome that it has significantly dropped your tuition down.

great news and congratulations. Do you know how much your transfer credits knocked down your tuition? All of my science classes are within the 10 year cut off and I even have nutrition and patho. When I did the rough calculation looks like I would have transferred in ~58 credits..but that is only if they give me everything. Thank you for your reply!

Hi there, I want to know if anyone has transferred 50 or more credits at Chamberlain? If so how long was your program? I will be sending my transcripts over to Chamberlain tomorrow and I already have a BS degree and ALL science, social sciences that should transfer. I also evaluating the cost of program vs an ABSN. If Chamberlain is less expensive but a little longer as in 15 months then, it would be a serious contender vs a 12 month ABSN for a lot more. Thank you all in advanced

I was waitlisted. Congrats to those who have been accepted. I applied for the MN program btw. I was flat out denied back in 2016, so here's hoping I get an acceptance but I have a LONG wait.

I was told classes are all online. The only time you come in are for skills/test which is 2 days a week and maybe another day if taking tests. I do not think clinicals times are flexible, however I could be incorrect. You can speak with an ABSN admissions rep and they can provide you with all the details. Mine has been super helpful in this journey.

Hello Tzapp87, when you get off orientation maybe a month or two can you please share in a post or PM to me about your experience? I'd be interested in knowing how orientation is also. This is an area I'm considering. Thank you and congratulations!

I honestly don't think the journey will be 'easy' and I'm not sure what you mean by easy. If you haven't taken your required nursing pre-reqs then that alone can be 1-1.5 years of school. You will still have to balance work and school especially if you're doing school full time and work full time. I'm not sure if you have a family, so you'll have to factor that in also. Depending on where you want to attend nursing school, it can be competitive and in some cases ABSN are more competitive. Also you will have to factor into the nursing application by taking the HESI or TEAS. I just say plan realistic expectations and don't try to rush the process. Research the schools you are interested in, know what they're looking for, find past and current students to speak with about their experience. Also get to know the admissions rep or director. They can offer you insight of how to make you a 'better' applicant. Last and not least...DO NOT compare yourself and your stats to others. What you have to offer is only unique to you and the right school will see it and appreciate it. Good luck on your journey. I've been off an on for some time now and I will be applying for Spring or fall matriculation 2021.
