  1. Yes, the professor was very helpful and UTA uses academic coaches to assist with student questions, grading papers and etc.
  2. No, you're not too old! I am 42 years old and have wanted to go into nursing for some time. I am currently taking my prereqs and will apply to nursing schools next year. I have two children (19 & 23) and now have more time to devote to my studies. If I can do it, so can you!
  3. Hi, I'm currently taking my prereqs at UTA and just finished Technical Writing. It is only a 5 week course and I would say it was fairly easy and I'm not a writer by any means. I have not take the other courses you mentioned, but you definitely can take one of them along with the writing course.
  4. I've taken A & P I and II, both in an 8 week format, and I'm currently taking Microbiology. Being organized and studying daily has helped me a great deal. Hope this helps!
  5. I'm 42 and have been in payroll/finance for over 16 years and have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. I thought about nursing a few years back and finally decided to go for it. I'm currently taking my prerequisites and look forward to the journey!
  6. Congratulations!!! Please continue to keep us informed as there are many of us who hope to achieve this accomplishment soon!
  7. I wear all of those hats, except I am single. I have two daughters, 22 and 18, with the latter one just wrapping up her freshman year in college. I'm still taking prereqs and will admit there has been some stressful days and some sleepless nights, but I know it will be worth it in the end. Being organized, managing my time better, and having a great support system has been very helpful for me. I wish you the best, you can do it!!!
  8. I'm on somewhat of a similar journey...I'm 42 years old and have thought about nursing as a second career for a couple of years now. I am currently taking prereqs and things are going pretty well. I do not have a medical background but would love to work in labor and delivery. I, like you, am very nervous but ready. Good luck!!!
