  1. Is the order specific as to what exactly is supposed to be re-evaluated? would advise approaching this by having these docs stop writing the vague re-eval part. Maybe involve your medical director. If not, can you put it on their list to follow up on in two weeks?
  2. I would go for FNP since it will give you the option to see children in the future should you wish. This can be an advantage when looking for jobs if you are applying to smaller hospitals.
  3. Unfortunately, a fair number of employers hire NPs with any certification (FNP, Acute care, ANP) for psychiatric jobs. This is particularly prevalent in LTC in the northeast. I find that the outcomes many times leave something to be desired.
  4. Sounds like you were spot on and really couldn't have done anything differently. People (in this case parents) have the right to make their own decisions, regardless of if we agree, and you did all you could to educate and advocate for your patient. Just make sure that everything you did was documented, although EMS hopefully documented the call as well. You did good- You have no reason to beat yourself up or feel guilty.
  5. To me, this sounds more like the kind of reviews they do for being on probation rather than a raise. Were you getting a lot of complaints? Was the wait time very long? It's odd that they have enough staff to have an HR person watch and record your every move. I would recommend seeing if you can move from an hourly raise to getting a certain percentage of your billing as a bonus without all of these stipulations attached to it. The criteria they are using right now is ridiculous to me and a little suspicious.
