May I ask what are the specific reasons you are leaving? Just personal preference? I'm interested because I have been looking into nursing jobs in homes run by the ministry and would like to get some insight on how it is.

Hi Canucks, I just made an account to reply to your post because it sounds like we're in identical situations. I was really banking on getting hired on my consolidation floor at one of the big hospitals in downtown TO, but they went on a hiring freeze as I was finishing my placement last March. I only got my first RN job a couple months ago with an agency, like you. I am actively looking for other jobs at the moment on job posting websites like Indeed.ca. Curious to hear how your shifts have been going... and if we're with the same agency, hah. If you feel up for it message me to share experiences. If not, good luck! Easier said than done but don't get too discouraged, a lot of nurses nowadays are sending out literally hundreds of resumes to get one or two phone calls back.
