  1. I'm thinking about taking a Postpartum assignment at bakersfield memorial or mercy. Any info would be great.
  2. Hi Cali! Are you still in Bakersfield and at what hospital? I'm thinking about taking a contract there for the end of this month or October.
  3. Thank you for all of the informative advice. I'm an R.N with 5 years experience. My recruiter said to apply as an OB nurse which is my specialty. Moosicle what's the difference between MEDCENs and MEDDAC's. I'm actually considering the Reserves now since I won't graduate from grad school until Dec 2011.
  4. Hello! I'm a 30 yo single female who is seriously thinking about joining the army as a nurse. The main attraction is the student loan repayment option. I have over $90,000 in student loan debt, so you can see how this would help me financially. However, I don't want money to force me to join. I'm asking all army nurses to please give me your honest opinion on what you think about serving? Thanks :)
  5. Omg! I'm so glad I came across your thread. I've been a school nurse since Nov and ever since I've been sick every month. This month is my second time being sick. I've missed 4 days without pay so far, and it's not as if we get paid that much to begin with. I don't know how much of this I can take.
  6. Hi! Does anybody know of any hospitals in NYC that are offering NICU internships for experienced RN's. Thanks!
  7. Omg! I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how you feel right now. Whatever happens I just want you to know that you are human. Yes you made a mistake but we all have, any nurse that tells you she hasn't is lying. We've just been fortunate. I know you're scared and worry about your future but as time passes you"ll feel better. Unfortunatley these are the liabilities that come with nursing. If you decided to stay in nursing I bet you that you'll be the best nurse in that hospital becuase you learned from your mistake and will always question what's in the chart, even if the doctor is screaming at you to give a med. Andif your destiny isn't to be a nurse anymore, it"s not the end of the world. There are other career paths out there, you"re young and you have your whole life ahead of you. If you ever want to talk I'm here for you. May prayers are with you. God Bless. Kym!:redbeathe
  8. It's near wall street in Manhattan. They pay around $32 an hour. What hours will u be working?
  9. Thanks! I'm actually going to Gotham agency today to work per diem as a school nurse. If you don't mind me asking, where will you be working and how much is the pay and benifits?
  10. Congrats on your new job! I actually applied online with the DOH about a month ago and haven't heard a response yet. How long did it take them to contact you, and do you have any suggestion on how to contact someone to get an interview?
  11. Relocating to DC and I'm applying to the HU ARNP program, any advice or suggestions. Thanks!
