  1. Operating Room. Any nice and safe place close (walking distance) to the hospital? I still don't have a car, hence i need to live close to the facility on a temporary basis until i get my own car. really need ur advice. theatre9
  2. I will be working in the OR. How long is the drive from San Macos to Palomar Medical Center? It will probably take a month or two before I will have my own car.
  3. How far is Pacific Beach or Hillcrest from Escondido? I am going to work in Palomar Medical Center and I don't see myself driving my own car in the next couple of months as I still have to secure a license to drive. Do you know any place close to the mentioned hospital that is safe and nice to live in (just on a temporary basis until i sort things out) And what the places to stay away from in Escondido. theatre9

  6. hi everybody. here's my story: job offered on june 2004. notice of receipt : sept 2004 approval date : april 2005 case completed : october 2005 interview date : 7th february 2006. i am hoping to leave for san diego at the end of april as i still have a few things to sort out. goodluck to everyone who is still waitng for the big day. theatr9

  10. hi dhel, i am so sorry to hear about your experience i salute you for being so honest about the whole thing. i have been working abroad for the past 14 years and it's just natural to compare the country to your own but give yourself some time. i just got my immigrant visa a couple of days ago and i am hoping to be in san diego in april and i hope and pray that things will out for me without any hitch. anyway, things can only get better. theatre9
  11. hi. just to let you know that i finally got the much awaited call from US Embassy in Dublin on the 17th January, 3 months after my case was forwarded by NVC. I managed to get my medical done on the very next day, got my result on Friday, 20th January. I have an appointment for the interview on the 6th February. I am ready and I have my fingers crossed. I will keep you posted guys. theatre9
  12. hi everybody. i just want to know how long do we have to wait from the time the case has been forwarded to the embassy till the time they contact you for the medical examination and the interview. my case was forwarded to the embassy in dublin on 13th october. got a letter from them asking me to send them a copy of my visa screen cert but i haven't heard from them since. i wonder what's taking them so long...would love to hear from anyone who has any idea on this matter. theatr9
  13. my case has been completed on the 4th of october and forwarded to the US embassy in dublin, ireland. i have been waiting for the packet 4 since but i haven't heard from them up to this date. does anyone know how i could find out about my case? do i have to ring nvc? theatre9
  14. my NVC case was completed on 4th October and forwarded to the US Embassy in Dublin on theb13th of October. I received a letter from the embassy on the 11th of Nov. asking me to send them a copy of my visa screen. A copy was sent to them on the same date but I haven't heard from them since. Am I suppose to receive a call or a letter from them? theatre9

  17. we tried using skin markers but the ink comes off when it gets wet. we tie the red strings (that holds the 5 swabs together) around the syringe barrel but our manager thought it was wrong because the strings are supposed to be handed off to the circulating nurse before counting the swabs. any better idea?
  18. any vascular OR nurses in the house? just want to know what do you use to identify the different syringes that you use for the heparinized saline and antibiotic solution in bypass procedures? is there a special sticker or something that you can stick on the syringe? theatre9

  23. Hi everyone. I have taken a RN position in Palomar Medical Center. I would appreciate if you could give me some opinion on this facility. I am thinking of renting an apartment close to the hospital. Please give me some idea about the place including cost of living. Is Escondido a nice place to live in?
