  1. Hi Niecy815, Thanks for your comment, and I am glad to hear this post has been helpful! Unfortunately, I am no longer pursuing a nursing career. However, I do recommend you apply for the peer mentoring program at BMCC! (You can find more info in the BMCC website) It is very helpful to have a mentor guide you through the ups and downs. Make sure when you do apply, you choose someone that is in the same major as you. All the best in your Journey!
  2. To whoever may be interested, I spoke with the associate director for transfer students at LIU, and she stated that you must complete all pre-reqs. If you hold an associate's degree you would only need to complete the social science and science requirements. If you're taking pre-reqs at BMCC please note: MAT104 (dosage Calculation) does not transfer to LIU, as per advisor You must take two chemistry classes: General and Intro to Org. and Biochem The professional phase takes up to 3 years for a part time/evening student. They do not have a list of equivalent classes that will transfer to LIU, so you would want to keep in contact with them to make sure the classes you are taking transfers. *Please note I am not an academic advisor, please reach out to them to confirm this information. If you have more information regarding this post, please feel free to share. Thank you! Alejandra
  3. Thank you for your response! I have tried contacting the school, and no reply yet. I plan on visiting the school, and meeting with an academic counselor in the upcoming weeks, but wanted to see what are other peoples experiences as far as transferring pre-reqs to LIU from a Community college.
  4. Hi All, I know there are many topics regarding LIU, but I have a few question, I didn't see on the other post, so hopefully someone can please help! So here it goes: I plan to take the following pre-reqs at Borough of Manhattan Community College: English 101 & 202 Speech 100 Psychology 100 and 240 (Intro and development) Chemistry 121 (General Chemistry) Math 104 (Dosage Calculation) Bio 425 and 426 (Anatomy and physiology 1 and 2) Bio 420 (Microbiology) My questions are: Do I still need to completeall the remaining pre-reqs, or I just need to complete 2 Philosophy, 2 History, Statistics, and Sociology? What is Finite Math? Could this math class be waived as I am taking dosage calculation at BMCC? Once all pre-reqs are completed, how long does the professional phase take to complete for part-time student? Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon! Best, Alejandra
  5. I start class this Thursday, 8/25 and I am so nervous! Fall 2016: General Psychology Speech Dosage Calculation/Math I work so I want to start off slow, and see how it goes. Hopefully it all works out! Good luck to all!
  6. Hello, Which nursing school will you be attending? BMCC or Montefiore School Of Nursing? I see that you did your Pre-req. at BMCC (Same as I am doing) but wasn't sure what's your next step? I am also considering going to Montefiore SON if things don't work out at BMCC. Not sure if You have a post about this already. Hope to hear from you soon!
