if the situation is in fact what I suspect I feel less inclined to feel sorry for the OP. I consider it mutual usery. These men think these foreign women will be easily controlled once you bring them home and stateside, but once they've acclimated to American life, they figure out how to get what they want and know their rights. I've seen it happen time and again. I do find it odd the women are usually shamed for it and not the men. If anything it should be thr men, they are taking advantage of underprivileged and poverty stricken women who will do anything including sleeping with anyone to escape their lives.

In Chicago, I would say just about every nurse you will encounter is Filipino. I haven't seen a non Filipino nurse ever. They do work. Some of my family members struggled with their Filipino mates trying to send back all their money. That I could agree with is a cultural thing. But u need to straight out tell the woman look, u want me to be the bread winner? That's your culture? Well it's also in your culture that the MAN is the head of the household and makes ALL the decisions. You sound really meek and you need to get it together if you want this to work. This woman is going to walk all over you if you don't put the hammer down. she doesn't respect you and you need to fix that pronto. She knows her attitude wouldn't fly in a traditional Filipino household. She's milking you dude. Wake up

My professor is not only racist but belittles and yells at us for not understanding concepts or his favorite, asking to repeat something. I once raised my hand and asked him to repeat something and he mocked me for it. He said, oh you have a question? You want me to repeat myself? You can't understand the first time? ...:then he repeated what i asked him and said, have you gotten the concept now? Do finally get it? Great I'm so happy for you. I felt so so angry and wanted to punch him. He's won because I never raise my hand ever anymore. I only have a month and a half left and I'll never have to see his wimpy face again. I honestly think he was picked on as a kid or something, and now he has this power complex. I wrote quite a lengthy prof evaluation on him. I hope he's fired. No one should have to deal with this racist jerk. I pay to go to school and learn about my profession, not to hear him say how he thinks Asians are genetically smarter. He makes Chinese people look really bad.

Don't come to this site for encouragement. I also have a horrible professor who is straight out racist. He gets a pass on this site because he's Chinese. I thought this would be a great place to vent my feelings but you will encounter many nay-Sayers here. Just use it for tips. Save the stories for family/friends.

My husband told me one of his professors was fired for saying that it would be more difficult for black people to play hockey because of the shape of the foot or ankle or something along those lines. What my professor said today is far more egregious (Asian people are smarter due to genetics) wonder if my professor could get fired for this latest comment. I wish

professor evaluations were last week and I wrote quite a long list of grievances. We are not allowed to tape lectures without permission and I wouldn't dare ask him. Ask for today's class his tidbit was outrageous yet again. We were discussing genetics and he said, Michael Jordan's genetics allowed him to become a great basketball player. I'm a short Asian man I could never become a great basketball player but my genetics allowed me to be more smart. That's why Asians score so high in tests is because of genetics that's all. It just just keeps getting better with this fool I swear: i juwt wish wish he said this last week during evaluations so I could have put that down as well

its the same as if i accepted a position in a third world country and lamented my students about how i thought their country is backward and filthy. its rude and inappropriate. i believe the students would have every right to tell my elitist a** to go back to America if i had so much disdain toward their country.

no it was a flippant remark that formed in my head that i didn't express. I don't have any problems with any people of any descent. But i have a hard time swallowing other peoples prejudices in a learning environment. I don't care if you're racist, just do it on your own time.

My teacher for my pre req nursing program is horrid. He is from China and is extremely prejudiced against Americans. We are constantly subjected to his 'tidbits' of information about how Americans are basically extremely stupid compared to other countries. If students have not grasped a concept he's taught, he will say things like, In China we learn this in 3rd grade. What is wrong with your school system that you can't understand basic concepts? He also says things like, America may have some of the best schools, but most people don't get in there, most people get into crap schools, so the vast majority are under qualified. Today his rant was about nurses in the US. He said the that united states nurses have a high propensity for killing patients by misreading solutions placed into the bloodstream. He said a lot of nurses don't understand the concept of Isotonic solutions, blah blah blah. One of the students raised his hand and said, don't other countries have the same problem. He said sure, but because the educational system in the us is so poor we have much lower standard of nurses here. He has said a lot of really derogatory things, a lot more than i have mentioned. A lot of the students hate him, but no one wants to speak up. I feel like I'm in a hostile educational environment every time i come to his class. I really dislike this man but I'm at a loss of what to do. Im on the verge of anger a lot of the times. I had to stop myself from screaming at him , "Go back to China and teach there if you think were so dumb!" now he's making me turn into a racist smh

Do you gain or lose weight while working? I would think that because nurses are always on their feet and moving around a lot with minimal breaks for eating, People would drop a lot of weight or maintain a slim physique easily. IS this true?
