Mt. Sac nursing program spring 2018
When do clinicals start? 2nd or 3rd week after they teach you clinical skills Where are they located? Sorry, I don't remember all the sites. Should I take Med Term. this winter or am I wasting my time? I didn't take a terminology class, nor did I have a medical background prior to starting the program and I didn't have any problems. How hard is the first semester really going to be? I found the material pretty easy. The hard part is getting used to the schedule and workload.

Dosage problem help
I've been staring at this problem for the past 20 minutes and can't figure out where to start. I'm feeling pretty dumb because flow rate problems usually aren't an issue for me, and this one seems pretty straightforward. Any help would be appreciated. There is 400ml left in the IV bag at 0900 hours. It is infusing at 20gtt/min. The drop factor is 10gtt/ml . At what time will the next bag be needed?

Does anyone know if we need to show our work for the math packet? I'm very tempted to just run these problems through a calculator

Thanks for doing that, I was just about to call them myself. Does anyone have any idea what we're going to be doing? Three full days seems like an awful lot of time just for orientation.

Hmm... my acceptance email said orientation days are 1/10-1/13, but this email is saying they're only on 1/11-1/13. Weird

taking physiology during winter session (6 weeks long)
I wouldn't say physiology is more complex than anatomy - it's more conceptual as opposed to brute force memorization. Take it if critical thinking is a strong point for you.

Question about "W"s on transcripts
It shouldn't hurt you. Repeats are usually only counted if you actually earned a grade the first time around. I got into both programs I applied to with a W in Micro. I honestly wouldn't worry about it at all.

Just got my acceptance email! Did you guys just reply to the acceptance email or did you send a separate email? Does it even matter?
-

Nothing much, really... basically just that invitations will be sent out in early November and that mandatory orientation is from Jan 10-13 all day.

Getting Through A Hectic Semester
Focus on your goals and why you're going to school in the first place. Works for me every time. :)

Withdrawing from BIO 1200
Drop immediately. In most situations a "W" won't hurt you. A "C" will.
