  1. if possible could you please send this to me as well. My proficiency is due at the end of November. My manager encouraged me to at least write for my nurse III but I have only been at the VA since April, this will be my first proficiency and need some guidance. I have created a list of things to add to my proficiency already and joining as many councils as II can. I will definitely be reviewing the webinars as well. My email is [email protected]. Thank you!
  2. thank you so much! I am in the ICU. I have a long list of potential projects that are EVB but we can't do them if they have already been done. I'm not sure what has been done and what hasn't. My proficiency is due at the end of November so I will start working on that after my proficiency.
  3. Without the use of the swan, what is the best indicator a patient is in cardiogenic shock vs sepsis. I was told past medical history but a patient may have a significant past cardiac medical history and still be septic. Help me understand please.
  4. Has anyone here done a hospital wide project for their nurse III? If so can I ask what you did it on? Thanks :)
  5. Have any of you done a project to achieve your nurse III. If so would you mind sharing what your hospital wide project was? Looking for ideas for mine. :)

Hi, this is double posted onto critical care nursing but I was hoping i might get more answers from cross posting Hi All! I came to the VA ICU (mostly PCU patients) 4 months ago after working in ICU at a level 1 trauma center for 2.5 years. Prior to that I worked at a community hospital in ICU/PCU for a year. I was planning on studying/taking my CCRN this fall - i have Laura's DVDs and was going to buy the test questions from AACN and Baron's CCRN study guide. I work at the VA and they give bonuses for certificates. I have been told to take your PCCN first for the larger bonus and then take the CCRN next for the smaller bonus (each bonus goes down in money) because they have been known to give you grief if you do it backwards. Has anyone studied for just the CCRN and taken the PCCN and passed? I didn't know how difficult it would be or if I need to study separately. Thanks!
