  1. Is there a Facebook group for our class yet? We should make one if not! It would be fun to get to know you all before we start in the fall! Let me know what you think :)
  2. I hope you got a call... I just got mine today! :)
  3. Hi all! I just found out I'm #17 on the stand by list. The gal that emailed me back said the chances of getting to my number are "still pretty good". Trying to be optimistic here!
  4. I just took my TEAS V test today. I'll be honest, I didn't study, and I got an 85%. However, I have taken bio and chem within the last two years and I feel that helped me immensely. The questions are so random, it's hard to tell you exactly what to focus on, so I'm sorry if this is all over the place. I thought I'd do terrible on the reading and it was actually one of the easiest sections for me. Know your measurements for the math section as well as your roman numerals... I wish I had brushed up a bit on that. The math itself is easy, just make sure you read the question and know what they're asking you for. My worst science section was the earth and physical science section. Know about the states of matter, how they change from one state to another, etc. I underestimated how much of that stuff would be on there. Don't stress though. I think it benefited me to have gone in free of worry.
  5. Hi! I'm a bit late responding to this, but I'm applying to Graceland for their June '16 start. The nurses I currently work with all say it is a great program, apparently they hire a lot of the new grads from Graceland at my hospital. FWIW, I've known four people who got denied from UMKC's nursing school (two of them were bio majors with 3.75 GPAs), I also hear their accreditation is being pulled. One of my best friends is currently in her first semester at Avila and she enjoys it! My only complaint about Avila (when I looked into applying there) was that they seem to be focused on just your cumulative GPA. I wanted a school that looked at me as a person as well.
