  1. Nice, congrats! San Diego is a great place. I was class of 2019.
  2. I was accepted into the program as well, look forward to working with everyone. I am currently in Phoenix, anyone else in the Phoenix area?
  3. I received my acceptance letter today! Whooo Hooo! Got in for the Summer 2018 cohort. I am very excited.
  4. Nope I am not stationed in Virginia, in fact I am not Active Duty anymore.
  5. I applied for the 1st time in SEP 2016. I found out in FEB 2017 that I was not selected. I have always heard it is wise to apply 3 times, as a lot of people get selected that 3rd time.
  6. Yup I am still in the Navy for a little while longer. I did see all the castlebranch stuff changed, which is good. I haven't heard too much about clinicals, but what you are saying with 50 hrs/week seems about right.
  7. Hello. I am applying for the 2018 Summer program as well. I think the summer application guide has now been posted.
  8. So for your interview board, I was told you want at least 1 Nurse Corps Officer on your board, the more the better and the higher ranked the better. But on my board I had 2 MO's that I worked with and 1 NC officer. Do you have a Naval hospital nearby? I would recommend you reach out to your nearest Naval hospital or even see if your CO has any contacts. Most people will be willing to help you, but you will have to get the process started, and unfortunately you do not have that much time. What command are you at?
  9. What specifically do you have questions with. The deadline is coming up, what do you have completed and what do you have left to complete?
  10. Did you ever get NRSNG Academy? I am looking into it and wanted to get some feedback. Thank you.
  11. @ ZAR963 I just wanted to see how the residency program was for you? And also do you have any advice. I am going to be an August graduate as well and it is very hard to find residencies that match up with that timeframe. Thank you.
  12. I know this is old, but did you ever go to ASU for the DNP program? If so how did you enjoy it? It is really difficult to get any info regarding the ASU DNP on here. Thank you.
  13. For MECP, you should really start now as far as getting everything in order. You will need to get an interview with your CO. In addition you will need to do a board with 3 officers (1 of which needs to be an RN). I would highly suggest the members of your board be 0-4 or higher or if 0-3, they should be nurses. Have you already been to the website and looked at all the requirements? Also I applied last year and didn't get accepted. I was told most people don't get accepted after 1 try. So no matter what I would apply this year, even if you feel you are not ready. This way it would be your 1st attempt, then next year your package will be improved and you will have a better chance.
  14. The results of the FY-18 MECP came out recently, here they are... http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/reference/messages/Documents/NAVADMINS/NAV2017/NAV17019.txt I found out that I was not selected. Now I need to make a decision on applying again or getting out. This will be tough. Do you still plan on applying for FY-19?
  15. I can't PM yet, because I don't have enough posts yet. Did you get accepted to MECP as well?
