  1. i started my online micro class today, it seems like it will be pretty interesting and somewhat easy. i also had my lab today, and i got a really good instructor(he is head of the bio department). he says he is really laid back, he also said there will be times when we just have to show up to check on our experiments and then leave. he said everyone in his classes makes at least an a or b and that it is rare that you make a "c"! hopefully everything will work out this semester!
  2. hello everyone,i too will be starting a/p2(along w/microbiology) and i can't wait to get started!! i browsed some of the websites kayel posted, and i think they are awesome and will be very helpful(thankyou:d) good luck to everyone this semester!
  3. hey akmegs,im using the same book and edition, i know we'll do good with online micro! do you have to go to the school for lab? i have to go every wed. for lab. this semester i bought a digital voice recorder that allows you to download your recordings to your computer.i figured after each lecture i would download the files to my computer and orginize the files by each chapter we go over. i think that is a good way to study and stay organized.another good way to stay orginized is to make an outline of lectures, print them out and file them by chapter.when it is time to start studying for finals, or when you have to refer back to certain lectures or chapters it will all be there in order. i am very scattered brained sometimes :uhoh21: so orginization is soo important!!does anyone else have any suggestions? anything helps me!
  4. i just bought my micro book from a friend that just finished the class, she let me buy it from her for $25!!! it is $102 used at my school, so i am very greatful to her! i am taking my micro class online, and just have to go to the school once a week for lab. at my school everyone says taking it online is easier, soooo hopefully.... is anyone else taking it online? just 5 more days, i can't wait(sorda )
  5. hello! i am pretty new to this site,i am a pre-nursing student.after this semester (a/p 2 & micro) i will only have 2 more classes to complete! i will apply next jan. to our adn program here in n.c. i am very excited,i love going to school, but i cannot wait till i am done!i use to go to radiography.com because i originally wanted to become a rad tech, but nursing was always at the back of my mind,so i decided to change my major to nursing, and i have not looked back since!i would have had only 1 class to take for radiography, but i think taking the extra classes for nursing is worth it,i am very happy with my decision and cant wait to become an rn.my aunt is director of nursing at a hospital in ca,and she is my inspiration.i look up to her because she worked very hard to get to where she is at,and i hope to have as much career satisfaction as she does. caring for people is what i do best!
  6. i start micro and a/p 2 jan. 11th! im excited and nervous,good luck everyone:mad:
  7. i live in fayetteville,nc and as long as you have all your prereq's done, you have a really good chance of getting in.if you are missing some classes, that is when you have a small chance.the school makes it pretty hard on you when you transfer classes.i started taking my classes in california, but i knew i was moving here so i took classes that would transfer here.i didn't take my sciences (anatomy/physiology1&2,micro,chem,biology)unitl i got here because they are very picky about what will transfer and what will not.i am not applying for the program till next jan. i want to make sure i have all my classes done because my advisor said i will definitly get in next year with all my classes completed. you are put into 2 categories. category 1-you have all the prereq's completed (chem,algebra,biology).category2-you have all your prereq's and your cumlative point classes completed(a/p1&2,english,speech,micro,etc.)those classes give you your points. about 250 apply and they accept 100. i have not heard of any wait list, either you get in or you dont. if you are almost done with your classes in ny,i would suggest staying there.i was out of school for a year because i was considered out of state, and that was way too expensive to pay for! well good luck with whatever you decide:mad:
