For 15 I chose Surgical as well... I got it counted wrong! I thought so as well! I am not sure why its wrong, I found it in the textbook. For the opened ended question 2 I got the whole thing marked wrong. I am not sure why. These were my answers: 1- remain free of body odor and maintain intact skin 2- state satisfaction with ability to use adaptive device to bathe. I fee like these two outcomes would show that the pt is capable of providing personal care!! Guess I was wrong though!

I just took the week 6 quiz and it was very simple. Thanks for the heads up! For #4 on the last weeks quiz about the baby I put safety and security for the answer and it was counted right. For #10 about the elderly patient I put that the pt cannot get out of the chair in case of a fire since that is the highest priority out of all the answer choices!

Has anyone taken the #6 quiz?? I have been so busy this week I haven't had time to study. Also, on last weeks quiz the open ended response questions... She counted #3 wrong for me. It was the one about safety precautions to use instead of restraints and I found the answer in the textbook. Wondering what y'all put!

Yeah, I made sure to look through everything because I didn't know where to look in the book for that answer, so I looked through all the online stuff and found the websites! That could still be counted right if she grades it like she understands where you are coming from! All depends on how she reads it I guess. I know! Its all about different areas of stuff I feel like!

I went to one of the websites it has on the module wrap up and found where it said prepare for cold weather (or something like that...) and basically it was give emergency numbers, inform about hypothermia.. Etc I'm not sure if I got it right or not but that's where I went to find my answer!

I don't see any of the nurses using it in the hospital but I guess it's just one of those things that we need for school! I got the nursing diagnosis guidebook by ackley and it helped a lot actually. The whole part about the actual and risk questions were kind of confusing. From what I read, there is a certain way you have to write the diagnosis ?

The discussions seem like the easiest part! (Except week 5.. not sure how to go about this one...) I think it would benefit us a whole lot to see the correct answer. But what helps me is to see which questions I missed and then spend a long time finding the actual answer in the textbook. Its usually there, I just didn't have enough time to look for it during the quiz.

I was able to pull through as well, just with my discussion grade! This weeks discussion seems a little difficult. Not quite sure how to start off! It seems like to me that this class is mostly about the nursing diagnosis, which in my experience in the hospital... I've never seen a nurse use once!! But thats how it is with school I guess! I got a NCLEX review book as well. My friend just graduated from nursing school and said that the Saunders NCLEX review book helped her a whole lot throughout the schooling!

An idea to study the quizzes is to take a picture of the quiz and the answers you chose, and that way if you see what questions you get wrong, you can look back at your pictures and maybe narrow down the correct answer! The test was pretty hard. I barely passed! I felt like a lot of it wasn't found where I had been studying either!!

I actually did pretty well on my discussion, got a 89! I am constantly watching my grades as well!

I cannot sit down and the the textbook either. I try to do the learning outcomes at the beginning of the chapter and finding the answers to those questions help me kind of get to know what's in the chapter better. Also for the quizzes if I need help on a question I just look up some words in the index and it takes me to the right chapter that has the answer. It was pretty hard. But I didn't really study for it and got a 74. So at least I passed!

I agree! I feel like we HAVe to find something wrong with our classmates work and I don't like that. What if we can't find anything they need to add?? I just put some things down since it's required. I'm nervous about this class as well but good thing is that C is passing. And also I took the exam and got a 74. It only dropped my overall grade 1 point! So if you do good on the discussion and quizzes I think it's ok. How did y'all do on the exam/quiz 4

The select all questions got me too... I hope this next quiz isn't as hard! I haven't taken it yet. Planning on taking it today

I have a hard time with those ones as well! I am not sure why I keep getting half off for the questions where I have to define the words, when I copy them straight out of textbook! How did you do on the quiz #3?? I didn't do too well....

This is some of the stuff that our teacher sent me to look over before the test. Communication between nurses (how is it done?) HIPPA (What is the nurse's role?) Do patients have protected information? Review Definitions in your reading (standardized language etc... Review the steps of the nursing process ( provide examples of each, think of the week # 1 discussion and also create patient examples to prepare for exam # 1) The components of a nursing diagnosis Identifying nursing interventions based on the patient's diagnosis Outcomes (Measurable - What is the RN expecting the patient to do, respond, etc…) Assessment (What does the nurse do with the data?) Delegation (What task can the RN delegate? Who can the RN delegate to? What must the RN consider when prior to?) Identifying outcomes for patients based on their diagnosis (what are outcomes) What is the nursing process Also, I think it is good to look over the learning objectives in the front of each chapter and answer those. I don't know about yall but I have a hard time sitting down and reading each chapter in the textbook. So I like to answer the questions at the beginning to help me get a feel for what the chapter is about. Also, if yall got a new text book with a code in the front, it gives you access to additional study material on DavisPlus.com that is helpful!

Okay, thanks! Also, just to be sure.. One I start on either pathway (exams or classes) they don't let you switch over right? Say I do 3 classes then want to do my next "class" by opting out and taking the exam?
