Choosing an Operating Room Specialty
Hello All, I’m a new grad RN, BSN and I’m currently training and taking the AORN Periopi 101 course. At this time in my training I’ve come to a point where I’ve been asked to choose which specialties I’m intreseted in. I’m at a large teaching hospital offering most specialties. Im very confused! I change my mind everyday about which specialty to go into. I’m currently thinking Ortho, General, or neuro? I’m interested in trauma cases which I think either ortho or General usually end up taking... Anyway, I would LOVE to hear what you love and dislike about your own specialties. What personalities thrive in each area? I’m so excited to finally find out my specialty. Thank you for your input!

Online Accelerated BSN?
I'm starting an online accelerated BSN program this may at Northeastern University. It is in MA and mostly online. You need to go to Northeasterns satellite campus once or twice a week for labs and tests and you have around one clinical a week that can be anywhere in the area. :)

Northeastern ABSN May 2017
Thank you :) I got my decision just a week after I applied. Very quick! I took my TEAS last year when I was thinking about applying to a different college and they said if you've taken the TEAS within two years you can use them.

Job That Lasts the Many Years of Nursing School I Have Ahead
I've just completed my CNA certification and I am looking for a job that can hopefully last me all through nursing school. I've been accepted to an LPN program at North Shore Community College (Boston MA area) that starts this fall. I have chosen this route because I want to be able to work through all of my schooling. I hope to just keep bridging (LPN to RN, then RN to BSN) this way I can work part time. I already have all of the prerequisites for the LPN and RN and a lot of the bachelor requirements because I have another BS. So I hope I'll still get a fair amount of working in along the way! Any advice on types of jobs would be great! Or if you know of anywhere that would be flexible with a school schedule. Or if anyone's from the area any specific places to work. :)
