I received a call yesterday! I'll be attending the spring semester! See you all next year lol

I haven't heard anything yet! Several of my former classmates go there and they love it so I'm crossing my fingers. They supposedly said it's easier to get in during the spring. Good look to everyone!!

Qualified but not selected

I was told my file has been placed on hold until their last admission meeting in June. I hope to be with everyone this fall!

I feel for you! I'm in northern california and it is so competitive here to get into any program! I failed one year of community college due to getting pulmonary embolisms after a major surgery I had done and it totally screwed my chances to get into any CSU's since most count against repeated grades. I did not give up though. I worked really hard and pulled my overall GPA to a 3.5, got a 3.9 GPA in my prerequisite (I got a b like you in anatomy), and scored a 90% on my TEAS and have now applied to some private colleges in my area and discussed in my personal statement how I overcame my health issues and obstacles to becoming an overall stronger person/student. CSU's don't look at the individual student like a private college will and take into account more than just test scores and GPA. I also did apply to a ADN program as well. I would look into repeating your class in microbiology and then try taking organic chemistry since a lot of schools will take either organic or general chemistry. Then look into private institutions. If your heart is in it like me you will become a nurse!

Hi Rachael! I live about 20 min away from UC Davis. Go aggies! I don't believe they have a neuroscience undergraduate program but I could be wrong. I know there is a master program. So I think your major is neurobiology? The accelerated programs are pretty competitive in CSU's because they have fewer students they accept and its based on a point system. They will take in account your overall GPA unlike for their regular BSN programs. Many will allow one repeated class but most will count both grades toward your GPA. The students I know accepted had 3.5 GPA's and higher. I do know that Samuel Merritt accelerated program which is a private college has less strict admission policy and will look at your last 60 credits versus your entire GPA. A caveat about private schools, they will be exponentially more expensive. My two cents. If you look outside CA you will find that it is much easier to get into other programs and also cheaper than going to a private college in California. Nevada is not very far away from Davis.

I'm dying to hear back as well! I've been studying to take the HESI for another program so that has been occupying my time. It's crazy how time flies in school and then it's like an eternity waiting to get into a program.

I also applied to other programs just in case but USFCA is definitely my number one choice because the sacramento program specializes in Veterans Affair which is something I'm very passionate about. Your stats are awesome! I hope we both get in!! I believe they send out letters around the same time for both programs since it is the same committee doing the selection.

I would look at the questions you are missing on the A&P section then figure out what system(s) you are struggling in. For example, I'm strong in the circulatory system and the skeletal system but not very strong in the nervous system. I looked at videos on both youtube and khan academy on the systems I was weak at and took their tests and quizzes. I would then make flashcards on those parts I don't know in a "fill in the blank" format. Just take it in small chunks and you'll get it! Mnemonics are key!! PMAT. Mitosis happens everywhere even in my toes. I have a blast making things with osteoblasts. etc. etc.

If you see your professors for office hours, group or alone, or email them pretty consistently, they remember who you are! I went to a community college and the professors I liked, I would find them on social media. Hey it's a different age and everyone is on some sort of social media site. I only asked if I could add them AFTER the semester ended just to keep in touch. No one ever said no to me. This really helped me in the end because I lost all my email contacts but I was still able to contact my professors via Facebook to write me letters of recommendations! They remembered me because I was the only person to ask to be friends on Facebook! If you're kinda crazy on social media I don't recommend doing this.

My guess Cjandmavsmom is that you probably have a very high overall GPA which makes you a very good applicant for the program! I have yet to send in all my official transcripts so that could factor in why things may be going differently. I also have a pretty average overall GPA (3.5) which probably means they need to look at other factors to see if I'm a right fit for the program. I.E. the HESI exam.

Hi! I would send a private message to you but I guess I haven't started enough topics or something to do so. The order in which I did everything is a little different. I paid and applied first. I was contacted literally the next day and asked to send my unofficial transcripts to see if I'm qualified. I then was scheduled a phone interview and was told to write out a personal statement before my interview. After the phone interview I automatically was directed to a financial advisor to talk about finance. I was then told to wait till April to take my HESI exam. However, I just got an email saying I need to take the test next week. Oh and if I didn't reply back by this Friday they would close my application!! So cjandmavsmom, I don't know what is going on exactly. Maybe they don't like me and trying to make me apply to a different semester? Or maybe I'm just a lil paranoid! Are you actually scheduled for next month with an exact date? I only ask because they initially told me that they haven't heard back from admissions about test dates for the HESI and to wait for an email update but most likely it would be in april.

Hello! I already applied to the Sacramento campus. I had my phone interview about 2 weeks ago. They asked me about my living situation, health insurance, why chamberlain and then we discussed more about the curriculum plan and what classes I've taken already. Using that info they tell you information about financial aid and what to expect. I also had to send in a written personal statement BEFORE the interview. It seems everyone goes through the process differently? I'm now scheduled for two HESI A2 exams for next week (Mar 22nd) and the following week. I was told earlier that I wouldn't expect to take the HESI until April but I got an email today to schedule my exams. So I definitely would check your emails everyday after applying.

This was your first time taking it! Try not to get discouraged. It's not an easy test. You did incredible in your reading section! I purchased the ATI TEAS smart prep through the website. It includes two full practice exam and it reviews what specific areas you need to focus on and gives you lessons on areas to work on. This probably helped me the most to acclimate myself to the test and the time limit. I'm not a huge fan of the mometrix study guide. It's a good start but I definitely would not have gotten a high score using this guide alone. I felt the study guide gave you just enough information to make an educated guess. For example, the TEAS test will ask you what a nonspecific immune response would be. Mometrix mentions NOTHING about cytokines! I watched tons of videos on youtube and Khan Academy to review and go more in depth. I listened to videos in my car, while working out, etc. My theory is that mometrix uses the same stuff on their HESI A2 and TEAS study guide which doesn't necessarily mesh. You said you haven't finished A&P yet and probably a lot of the people who are getting 90% and higher have taken the courses that are on the TEAS test. I have taken Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, General Chemistry, AP Biology, Human Anatomy, and Physiology before attempting the TEAS. I got a 97% on the science portion first attempt. I've also taken calculus and previously tutored students at my college and I got 98% on the math portion. My tip on the math section is since it's multiple choice you can always fill in the answers to try them out for the algebra problems via process of elimination which guarantees you get the right answer. For the problem solving, I think I looked up college algebra word problems online to find worksheets. If you don't understand them, try going to a math tutor! If that's not available you can also look at youtube videos to follow.

Hi y'all! I also applied for Fall 2018! This would be my first time applying. I was always intimidated about the lottery system and never applied. I took the TEAS test years ago and got a 92% but i looked and ARC didn't accept that form of the TEAS test so I had to take it yet again and got a 90%. sad face. But luckily I still had enough points to apply. Good luck to us all. I also applied to Chamberlain and USF.
