ICHS 2022
I'm a Capstone student in the last semester. It's doable if you have a medical background, and determination. I chose to not work after the second semester and believe me, even with more time the volume of work is a lot. I waited a long time to go for it, ICHS was my last hope unless I repeat prerequisites in California. I say if you are self driven you can absolutely do it. Even with the BS.

They are flexible but there's no guarantee that you will get the exact days that you want and also take into consideration that they do dayshift and PM shift clinical it doesn't matter if you had a morning shift the day before they may give you a PM shift and then give you an a.m. shift the next day you'll have hardly any sleep and you have to complete an eight page care plan that night, as well as maintain the two classes you're enrolled in even though clinicals will occupy all your time. Some students do work as for me I was not able to because of the workload required with reading and assignments every week. It just depends on how organized you are and how committed you are to completing this program I believe it is possible. I borrowed against my house to pay for my living expenses and tuition because I knew that if I worked, I was going to fail because of all of my responsibilities with my toddler, commute and family. It is completely up to you. I personally say if you are going to be working full-time during this program, you should probably only take one class at a time. It will take you longer to complete the (RN) program but I believe it's more feasible this way just my opinion, there are a lot of students who do work full-time.

ICHS 2022
Online clinical was only during the height of Covid and I believe was discontinued in the end of 2022. we have clinical every semester now. It ranges between 10-17 days. They have been changing requirements so I can't tell you how many days you will have to do by the time you enroll. good luck. I started in pharmacology because I tested out of fundamentals. I heard fundamentals has a 10 day clinical requirement. Medsurg 1/ Psych I believe it was 13 days and Medsurg 2/ OB is 16 days. Capstone is 17 days and then residency week is 7 days. my tuition because I had completed all my prerequisites is about $33k. Every time you go out to Florida expect to spend about at least $2k in arrangements. Hope this helps. I'm from SF Bay Area as well and I waited to get into raffle RN programs until all my prerequisites expired and I was never chosen. This school was my one chance.

Hi am not sure about if math is proctored because that is just a prerequisite and is not part of the core program. yes college Algebra is required. all core nursing program classes including pharmacology and fundamentals utilize proctored exams. I would complete your prerequisite somewhere else because classes are expensive. I heard they accept straightliner prerequisites .

I was wondering if you guys were able to buy a house with your LVN salary?
All the registry offers I been getting in SF Bay Area offer $28-35 a hour. That’s not enough. the best places to get highest pay is UCSF, Kaiser and Sutter. Anywhere else you will make ***.

I bought my home in 2009 for $228k in Pittsburg Ca. Now it’s worth upper 500k. Even making 87k a year, I wouldn’t be able to buy my own home again. And 87k is with 14 years experience as a LVN.

Recent Unitek RN Grads/Current Attendees
I learned that University of Phoenix excepts Unitek College Pre-requisites. I am in the same boat now. Completed a majority of my Pre-requisites at Unitek, and now I am looking into other programs because Unitek is asking for a lot prior to entry to the program. They want you to pay for the transition course and pass, and be accepted to the Core RN course prior to being able to even speak with Financial aid. That just doesn't make any sense to me. How do you know if you can even afford the program? I was told off the record at the Info session that the program is $45,000 and that the school only utilizes Sallie Mae loans. She stated that they only usually give up to $25,000 and the rest is on the student. I was highly considering this program but now I don't think I can afford it. I have a mortgage and bills and without enough loans to cover both the tuition and cost of living, I can't. Looks like selling my house is the only option in paying for my education.
