Congratulations...I graduated 8 years ago and took the exam 3 times, but came up short. You made me believe that it is possible. When do you start your new career or do you have to do a refresher course?

i was just informed that washington state nursing care quality assurance commission has changed the nclex testing...policies a candidate can now sit for the exam unlimited times until he/she passes the nclex....however they must wait 45 days after testing to retake the exam...:typing

at my school we were required to take a dosage test..if you did not passed the first time you were given a second try and if you failed you were out of the program..

i am saddened to hear about your ordeal...but if there was a time to pray it is now...keep God first and everything will fall in place....your life is to precious...may God keep you and i will remember you in my prayers...stay strong...it will all get better

during my mentorship in my rn program, i was told that i would benefit more if i applied to my local hospital in the residency programs because i would learn more,but i am not opposed to working in the LTC ... why is one better than the other...please give me some insight on what your experiences have been.

i understand your concern...i, too am an african american woman and i was the only aa in my nursing progrm but that did not stop me and i graduated, but you have to be a trailblazer...don't let the ignorance of others deter you from your dreams in whatever your life's goals lead you...if that's where you want to go to school you have every right to attend....don't let rumors steer you wrong...the law and God is on your side...

I will be taking the nclex next year... I was unsuccessful on Dec 15, 2008, but i have to keep moving forward...i will not let this test defeat me. so good luck to all of those who will be taking the test for the first or second...you are all in my thoughts and prayers. thanx to all of those with words of encourgment ..it relly does help

hi all, I AM FINALLY TAKING THE NCLEX-RN ON THE 4TH OF DECEMBER, I AM SO NERVOUS. THANKS FOR ALL OF THE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT IT GIVES ME REASSURANCE THAT I CAN DO THIS.

I recently graduated from a nursing program in the kitsap area...and what really helped our class was the yahoo groups....you can post notes, download forms and picutres, and have discussions...it is not be used as a forum to bash instructors,students, etc. , it was very helpful and you can choose to have a select group of classmates or the entire class involved. It is worth looking into.

click under the region heading and click on SD or TX to ask the nurses who live in those states...you should also be able to contact BON in those states....or the nursing faculty at you school.

google excutive care nurses...they are one of the private duty nurse agencies that i found on the internet

i am guessing that you would go through a private nursing agency sort of the way you would go to a nanny placement agency. good luck

if at first you don't succeed dust yourself off and try again... I, too was in the same predicament in December of 2006. I felt like my spirit was broken, but i reapplied to the same program retook the class that i messed up and successful graduated this past June. I encourage you to follow your heart and don't let anyone stand in your way....whether it be family or faculty. I have been told if you can't get in the front door go through the back and if that is locked climb through a window. Apply to another school...talk to the nursing department and admissions at the schools that you decide to go to ....they are ones who can give you a definite answer about transferring credits and advanced standing... good luck and don't give up..

go with your gut....if you are struggling to pay rent and you have been offered a position at a correctional facility take it....it could be your blessing in disguise. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason....maybe your calling is to be at the facility.....give it a try...what's there to lose.

It just depends on where you apply....it may be more competitive at the U of W medical center than let's say Harborview....but apply everywhere...you just never know.

I am sure you won't have a problem getting a job in Seattle....go to indeed.com and type in resident nurse for the city of Seattle and take your pick.
