Nurse Manager Opportunity
hey there! When people see more in you, than you could say about yourself,,,,then you definitely should "look into yourself" and see what they see? You are a great nurse, think outside the box, and able to see/say/do more than the nurse in his/her cubicle? Then...you should go all out and challenge yourself! You could always return to bedside, but rarely the other way around. Yes, it implies many responsibilities, patience, creativity, educational skills, advocacy and everything in-between, but it gives you the possibility to advance your knowledge and career, along with some $$$. I would say: GO FOR IT!!!

New RN - Should I take an unappealing Med-Surg offer?
Hi Sarah, congrats on getting offers! Hospital and Med-Surg is the way to go, despite being difficult to move away. That pathway would open your career choices: think BIG. While wound care is very interesting (I worked in a nursing home, so have seen enough of them), it narrows down your choices, at this point in your nursing career. Best of luck!

Preparing for CNML (Certified Nurse Manager and Leader) exam?
I would like to ask for advice and guidance, from any nurse that studied and passed the CNML exam: what books did you guys use, and found useful? I keep poking the Google and ANCC, but the answers are very vague! Of course, they all offer the utra-expensive courses, but I am the type that can hold his own, and study independently! Any help, ideas, rumors??? :) Thank you, all

Nursing is the Biggest Mistake of My Life
your nick says it all...ALMOSTnurse!!!! To me it sounds like you have some personal aspects of your life to be fixed before you venture into the world of nursing. Just keep in mind patient satisfaction, accountability, devotion and excellence, when you start your first job! IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PATIENT. Almost all of us started in "undesirable places", but we worked hard ad proved ourself valuable assets for the next position we applied for. You need to open your mind, and understand that you will need some training, better set of skills, before you have the option to choose "where to" next! It is hard to find a job, but I am sure there is a job out there for you. Keep you head up and clear of this lovey-dovey business, because you are a professional. And the patients expect you to be one, and act like one! Meanwhile, learn your algorithms and medication, since there is always a pharma test WITH algorithms upon admission. Good luck!
