  1. Throw in a cute personalized l&d nurse badge clip from etsy :)
  2. That's a pretty stupid assumption it's just a screen name, that somehow is directly related to how she'll practice as an rn? Please tell me you're being sarcastic
  3. pay off the loans! Thats a no brainer I envy you, i also make 30$/hr as a new grad, but i live in a city with a ridiculously high cost of living. So i dont feel like i make enough. Eta: I don't envy you actually I just noticed you didn't calculate properly. Expect a $700 check at the end of your week not 1200.
  4. 55k, paying $462 per month ....but its ok because im making "big money" according to my family:rolleyes:
  5. Bellatrix. replied to IamSecond's topic in Ob/Gyn
I had my first one today.
  6. Congrats, this is my goal. I'm a new grad just starting in mother baby and I hope to transfer to L&D next year. Did you switch hospitals or did you just make a transfer within the hospital?
  7. Be as specific as possible on the envelope. I work in OB and tons of families send thank you cards and baby pics to the unit and we put in on a bulletin board in the hallway. I was reading it and i noticed one of the cards was a thank you for the interview card for the nurse manager. Awkward.
  8. Graduated early may. Applied may 31st, got interviewed july 9, got the job offer july 22 passed the nclex 2 days later. I've been working full time in mother/baby for about a month now, in a new grad residency :). I worked as an aide in this hospital on a different floor, did my clinical in l&d and preceptorship in m/b at this same hospital. Its a great place to work, so I made sure to let the clinical placement coordinator know where i wanted. Next step is l&d.
  9. Hello all, I'm a new grad that just started a full time residency on a Mother/Baby unit. I'm one of four. 4 were also hired onto L&D. I'm very lucky and grateful to get in my dream unit and hospital so soon. Unfortunately the position ends in the spring time, but I was told there's a chance of them letting us keep our positions. But there's so many experienced nurses working here already, so I don't know. I feel like I'm in a competition. Ultimately I would love to work in L&D at this hospital. I just want some tips on how to be so great they'll want to keep me and be willing to accept be into l&d. I'm aware of resume boosters and such but I'm mostly in need of advice on actually working on the floor Thank you
  10. adpiRN, omg, that's funny I got mine in the mail today! You'll love it, it's so cute!
  11. Um yea. Baggy clothes can make a slim person look like there wearing a paper bag
  12. I don't have any tips, as I am a new grad, but I start mother/baby this month too :).
