Please Help, I'm new & made a huge med error, I'm devastated.
I laugh at myself when I read this. I can honestly relate to. I also made errors before and was talked to by the nurse supervisor and chief nurse. It's not a major error but an error all the same. After that incident, I have promised myself to be even more careful specially when carrying out orders and giving medications. I was not fired or what not but that incident gave me a lesson and same as yours, that was when I had only recently graduated and passed my license exam.

Bulleted statements are the devil
Hello! Job description I believe is for entry levels only. From your statement, you do not seem to be under this stage because you have already been working so you do not need to have one. You said that you are also been working as a NICU nurse which is a special area in nursing ( I am also a NICU nurse) which is great. So on this point, do you have like any certifications on this area? Do you have additional trainings etc, acquired new skills, is knowledgeable about certain equipments? You may want to include that as part of your qualifications. It does not matter if you have only worked at one area only or hospital - as long as you have skills to add, these can be your qualifications. If you are having any hardships making your CV don't stress there are many templates you can use as a guide in the internet. Or you may try what I have been using which is CV maker CV in cvmkr.com

I want to quit nursing.
Nursing isn't bad it's the people around you that makes nursing bad. I've been there too. And when the stress get over me completely- I tried a different job for awhile. It taught me other things aside from clinical and I get to travel to another country and meet new people. It help me grow and develop other skills unbeknownst to me before. I think it helped me become a better person. Sometimes, it's okay to quit nursing for awhile rediscover yourself and come back again with your new learnings in life and as a person. It will make you stronger. And no, don't make excuses for other person's shortcomings - they are insecure and you are exceptional. But as a new starter or newly grad, the other people here at this forum are correct-- don't expect your starting point to bend the way you want it to be. First of all, you are just beginning your career.

Hospitals Firing Seasoned Nurses: Nurses FIGHT Back!
I totally agree with you. It does happen and I see it too. I was reading too many comments regarding this and I thought I could just keep my thoughts to myself but was no longer able to contain it. It is all saddening, disappointing, heart wrenching and makes us nurses incapable because of too little power over these matters. I hope there really would be a union to win this battle. I am only 23 but I feel the importance of this matter. I know I am yet so inexperience but I am so much willing to learn and I give full respect to more experience nurses than me. It's time to teach younger nurses. A union for me please! We could be powerful enough to win this battle. We can. . .

Sexual Comment from Boss???
You can ask the person to clarify what he means by the statement- that way there wouldn't be misconceptions.
