Just received my denial letter. Which I anticipated but it still stings.

I have not. I submitted the day after it opened.

I wrote about 2 pages. I talked about when my passion started, what I did and overcame to get to this point, etc but I read after I submitted that they may be looking for volunteering experience

Yeah but it's rolling- so I think they accept as they want LOL... like they are not waiting until February to review applications and fill spots.

I just wrote a few sentences... I felt weird just putting yes LOL

I spoke with admissions. They pulled my application and I am going to reapply next year after a few more classes to try to bump my science GPA ?? good luck !

Super nervous! Midwestern University is officially the first school I have truly submitted to and hoping to get in. Stats: 6 years ICU: neuro, trauma, surgical, medical GPA 3.83 with some grad level courses Science GPA is about 3.5- so a little low Good luck everyone !

Applying tomorrow stats : ICU 6 years : Trauma, Surgical, Medical, Neuro GPA 3.83 with some graduate courses ... also applying at another school.

Hi everyone, I applied a little late in the game.. so unsure how this will work out. I have 4.5 years ICU experience (various and traveling), 3.2 science GPA, 3.83 cumulative GPA, and I took some graduate level courses. fingers crossed

What residency programs are you looking at? A lot of them are privately funded because GME funding has not been approved for NP fellowship/residency. I am interested in completing as well to help with transitioning and confidence in practice.. not so much for the rise in income, per sa.

I am attending UTA for now and will plan to use a third party for placement but I am still waiting to hear back from Texas woman's (they have guaranteed placement).. I have not heard back from GU but it is extremely costly to not be guaranteed placement. I really loathe that most programs are online now. I wish I could find a good hybrid

Sorry. I just thought you should know. You could always hire a third party if it becomes an issue or try a different school that has a better reputation with clinical placement

Sorry. The person I spoke to was in a larger city (More out west) but if you are in the NE they could have more connections to help placement.. May I ask your GPA?

I believe mine will officially start processing tomorrow. I received a call today about trouble locating transcripts, I believe it is because they were sent under my maiden name. Easy fix. However, I have a 3.0 and even though I wrote explaining the barriers I faced... I am unsure I will be accepted. I have officially been accepted to University of Texas-Arlington but they require you to fill out a 50 contact spreadsheet in order for them to help with clinical placement ? but they are a third of the cost GU, so I could afford to pay a third party to find my preceptor... I also applied to Texas Woman’s University... they state they do all of the clinical placement and do not want their student to worry about it. Have not heard back yet. I am under review.

I blocked out her/his state because they were so nice and I didn’t want to throw them under the bus. They said they would still recommend the program because of the education

I tried that. I didn't really get a lot of feedback. I have a friend at GCMC in the PACU, she said she will try to reach out for me. I may try calling some outpatient surgery centers.

That is awesome! I haven’t officially applied. I did call and schedule an appointment to tour the campus with Dr. Spiegel. I went to WGU for my BS part and I am hoping I didn’t shoot myself in the foot. ?

Do you think if I call and ask I could get in for shadowing days ? Or would your person want an extra shadow lol I am super nice !
