Hello current MGH students, I wanted to follow-up with any of you and see if you'd be interested in meeting up. I've been accepted into the MGH IHP program for Fall 2016 and I will be at the Visiting Day on Saturday, March 5th. I'm from California and haven't visited Boston before. I'm interested in global health as well... do you have insight on how the global health programs at Columbia and JHU compare? I traveling to the east coast next week to check out Columbia and MGH.... and JHU if I'm accepted. Any thoughts would be most appreciated :)

Hello, do either of you know when we can expect to hear from the JHU entry-MSN program?

Hello, I'm in a similar position as the two of you and I'm hoping to hear your experience and which school you decided on. I'm from San Francisco and I'm not too familiar with either Boston or NYC. I was originally leaning toward Columbia for the name and the connections, but MGH offered me a $50,000 scholarship which nearly cuts my tuition in half. I'm torn because I don't know how much weight a DNP will hold in comparison to a NP. Columbia's DNP is appealing since I can finish it in 3 years.... but it's a lot of debt to go into. I'm a returned Peace Corps volunteer and I'm really interested in global health. I know every program will have it's weaknesses... but do either of you have any opinion looking back? Could someone clarify the MSN program for me? On the JHU website under the FAQ section, there is a question that says "What are the differences between the two pre-licensure options? The answer says that the MSN program is 5 continual semesters and the degree upon completion is a Master of Science in Nursing, Generalist. I'm confused because it also says that once completing the MSN program, we are eligible to sit for the NCLEX and can work as an RN or continue our studies in advanced practice. Is the end result of the MSN program a RN degree or a master's degree?

Is there an interview or do we hear directly if we're accepted or not? Also, are there any returned Peace Corps volunteers applying?
