  1. Yes! It's the only school I applied to and I'm from Albany so I'll have a good support system
  2. Just found out yesterday that I got in. Super excited!!!
  3. I was thinking that also. i'll have 2 years in CVICU in February. I could definitely use the extra money for school. So it's something to think about.
  4. The reason I asked if anyone has taken a break is bc I would like to also do travel nursing to save money for school. I have two specialties cvicu and nicu. After doing some research I've learned that nicu pays a lot more. But I'm not sure if I should leave the adult ICU world before school starts...
  5. Does anyone plan on taking a break from nursing before they start school? Or did you take a break before starting school? Just want to get some opinions on taking a hiatus from nursing before starting a rigorous program.
  6. Thanks! When did you apply? What type of expierence do you have? If you don't mind me asking
  7. Congrats!! I interviewed in June for 2016 admission but did not get in. They suggested I take a class at Barry bc my GRE scores were not the greatest and apply again for next year. Hopefully I will be joining you.
  8. Thanks Ned!! a lot of good information. Going to look into it right now.
  9. Brooklynn89 posted a topic in Travel
Hi- I would like to start traveling sometime around February and was just wondering when I should start applying for licenses and reaching out to agencies. Any help/tips you can give me to help me start this journey would be great. Also, I have two specialities. NICU and CVICU. Does anyone know which one pays more and has better job satisfaction in regards to traveling? thanks!!
  10. Has anyone taken their "transition to Nurse Anesthesiology" course?
  11. Ladies, what did you wear to your interview? Torn between a pant suit or nice blouse and skirt (below the knee). Suggestions??
  12. Just wondering if murmurs were a topic that showed up on the CCRN. I can't seem to master it. Does anyone have any useful tips or mnemonics to help learn murmurs?
  13. Yeah. I'm gonna call them. Thank you for your advice. :)
  14. My NICU nurse did write me a recommendation letter but then they informed me they needed one from my current nurse manager :/
  15. Update: off orientation. Asked my manager for a LOR for next year admissions cycle and she won't write one. Feels I haven't been there long enough, (have been there 18 months so far) stated she would be willing to write one near the end of the year. Just feel defeated bc by that time applications for 2017 start will be over with. My charge nurse is more than willing to write a letter but the school I am interested in wants one from a nurse manager and my charge nurse. Has anyone else been in this type of situation. What did you do?
  16. Does anyone know how many people they interview?
  17. Did anyone else get an email about the interview schedule?
  18. Did anyone else get an email about the interview schedule?
  19. Hi. I don't know how they interview or anything but I know GREs are a big deal. They want at least 150 in each section and 4 in writing. Did you get an interview?
  20. I have an interview. But when I go to select a date all that is available is skype. Anyone know anything about this?? I would so rather do it in person.
