New York Presbyterian/Columbia (NYP Email) New Grad
You would have to wait until around March of next year to register for the next event. The Meet and Greet was around end of April and the interview was beginning of June. I was a May graduate and just got a job at NYP in September.

NYP New Grad Meet and Greets
I suggest looking at this thread for the timeline, tips, and questions. It was for NYP's New Grad events for Summer 2015 graduates. https://allnurses.com/nursing-first-job/new-york-presbyterian-982946.html

anyone who has received the benefits package for Columbia, do you know how much they give for tuition reimbursement?

I'd recommend sending an email to a recruiter whom you've met before (better if you've spoken to them a couple times) and ask for an update. If you don't have their address, try calling HR for it. This is how it led to my interview/offer. Also, of the many times I've called HR only once did someone take the time to go in-depth answering my questions about my status so it may take a couple tries. Personally, I don't think the resume drop off would be very successful because they already have your file in the system, but if you think it would work then try it?

New Grad Salary in NYC
ChrisB718, I haven't received my benefits package yet but I do believe they provide a 403(b) and i think 10 vacation days and 1 sick day/month for new grads and it goes up from there. Unfortunately I've heard it is extremely difficult getting into NYP with an ADN since I think they are trying to achieve magnet status but if you are getting your BSN i think that would work. Connections to the hospital are also very important. Good luck!

New Grad Salary in NYC
Cornell is part of NYP so I dont think they would have significantly different starting salaries. I also think Mount Sinai's salary is higher.

New Grad Salary in NYC
I was just given an offer at NYP. Base is 84k with BSN and 90k with night differential. The process is tedious and it took almost 5 months from beginning to an offer.

Congrats jlc128! If you dont mind me asking, which location or general unit are you working and what did they quote you? Also, I called today and they told me they are still trying to sort people on the wait list so there is still some hope.

Thanks for the info Fatim1984! Does this mean we definitely have to interview again for NYP? And has anyone else been hired yet?

Lily25, thank you for clarifying that. I just want to know whether its going to be 1 week or 1 month (hopefully not 1 year...) until we hear back about an offer. Its hard sitting around waiting for NYP when there are other potential offers. Has any one heard back besides having "future consideration" on their status?

Is anyone else checking their NYP acct and email every 10 mins hoping for some miraculous status change?

I did not apply to any specific departments, just the general event but the department I'm being considered for was in my top 3 choices.

10CasMic, did you interview for June 9th Columbia or this week for Cornell? If it was for Cornell you probably wont get anything until next week. If it was for Columbia I would maybe call HR at the end of the week to get a status update? Perhaps they just haven't gotten through to everyone yet.

Congrats on getting the offer! I'm assuming you took it? If you don't mind telling us (you can answer as much or as little as you'd like) Which hospital location were you offered a job in? What were the next steps you had to take? When is the start date/is it same or different for everyone? What were you quoted in terms of salary? I apologize for all the questions, I'm just anxious to hear back. Hope to meet everyone soon!

Did anyone else get the email about being a top new graduate? I was wondering how long the process would take until we actually got hired or if we even do. They said it's on a rolling basis so does it mean it be anywhere from 1 week to many months?

What did the PCDs say to make you think that? According to the recruiters, 150 got interviews, then its cut down from there, and they are splitting among the 6 hospitals so I think we all have a pretty good chance? I'm staying hopeful.
