Steps on becoming CRNA in NY??
i don't think school matter as much as much as gpa. i think columbia reqiures 1 years of icu experience as a rn. they prefer 2yrs in cticu or a surgical icu or adult icu unit. have good reference and be well rounded

Just curious.. will I get a pay cut as an NP
I am again exploring the NP track ... esp ACNP... not really interest in primary care. been a nurse for over 5yrs and most of that been in critical care. It seem the NP's field is over saturated, np's are in competition with Pa's and MD's and wondering will i get a pay cut as an np. Are Acute care NP satisfied with there jobs and would u take up this track again? Which school in the east coast would u recommend

Anyone attended previous Nurse anesthesia school and withdrawn
I heard hazing more times in small programs with one or two hospitals. They tend to pick the one or two that is different from the rest of the class as a target. Choose ur school wisely or u maybe sry and lose lots of money and time.

Anyone attended previous Nurse anesthesia school and withdrawn
yea I heard of people offered the option to withdraw or else also. I heard that u become one of the untouchable and no other school will ever want u. It tough u wasted lot on money, time, and effort. But some people say it a lie and u may find a school that is a better fit. Ur guess is as good as minds

In Icu Are Is There A Preference For Whites
never said it prevent me from getting a job in fact our nurse manager is part of a minority group i saying the fellow nurses seems to make the process of working there easier for some than other. It appears to me that those that they help happen to be of caucasion descent. e.g we had a nurse from other deptment worrking they practically beg her to come back for ot and no one ever bother asking me. In fact, the schedule has not even been posted yet.
