  1. You can never be too safe. You don't want to catch the autism.
  2. Really? Come on.
  3. My eyesight isn't perfect so I can never be a test pilot. Is that a human rights violation? I know, it sucks, but rules are put in place for a reason and this rule isn't new. I am pretty sure it was stated on the school website before applications were being accepted. It sucks if you have an actually medical reason. Anyways, good luck
  4. Since when is attending school a right? I think the vaccine is silly as well, but since I want t go to school, I understand that I must follow the rules set out by the school and need to get it. That's how life works. You do the things you need to do in order to do the things you want to do.
  5. I guess I can relax now that I have received and offer from Niagara College this morning. I don't even know why I checked as the earliest offer Date was supposed to be March 11th. Pretty exciting :)
  6. Thanks, that probably makes sense and I'll check it out in the morning. I applied at Niagara and Mohawk. You? How did I find it? I studied math, chemistry and biology for weeks (everything from the HOAE study guide book I bough from Amazon) and NONE of that was on the test. But.... it is over and I think I did OK. Not as good as I could have done, but I am glad it is over. Good luck to everyone. I hope the random question test didn't get the best of you.
  7. I did mine on the 20th. I got my raw scores back, but they don't really mean anything. I have more sections than most of the people here are posting as well.
  8. Just a heads up for anyone that is in the same situation as me. ACE core math is NOT being accepted as a math credit at Mohawk. So, that leaves you a few days to get registered in another math course and put a dent in it by mid-March. Good luck
  9. Well, the application deadline has passed. Now I guess we wait.
  10. I applied to Mohawk and Niagara, but my HOAE isn't scheduled until Feb. 20th. I am pretty much just going crazy reviewing my Chemistry and Biology.
  11. Niagara offers the practical nursing alternate delivery program. It is evenings and weekends. You can also do the ACE upgrading program through Niagara, or any other ontario college.
  12. I guess i just don't understand. And I'm glad.
  13. Yes, gun are legal in Canada. But, we don't just leave them in our car while we go to work.
  14. I wonder if maybe some of these "bad guys" obtain their guns from people that so desperately need to be a hero during their morning commute, that they risk leaving the firearms unattended in their vehicle all day/night? Wait, "bad guys" don't break into or steal cars now do they? I am sure most of the guns used to commit crimes were once legal guns stolen from careless gun owners. INCLUDING most of the guns that are smuggled north to Canada an used to commit crimes here. Your right to bear arms in America is affecting us in Canada. And that is not fair or right.
  15. Guns are dangerous. Just talking about them has half of us up in arms.
  16. You're right, the Bataclan tragedy could have been completely avoided if only the partying concert attendees were armed. It is a known fact that rock music and booze increase your aim.
  17. To get started, go to the mohawk website and do a search for "ace academic upgrading". You can do all your pre-requisites for free. I don't know which ones you need, but it has taken me a year to do English, math, biology, and chemistry. These courses will get you into an RPN program, but different schools may specify which of the science classes you need, physics or chemistry. These classes are all online, and are all free, BUT, they have specific intake dates so sign up as soon as soon as you can. You will also have to do a short online course called "learn to learn" which should only take about a week, but will help you get back into the swing of school. If you do these classes through the college you plan on attending for nursing, the whole process is easy and your transcripts are automatically transferred. That should help you get started. Hope it helps. Good luck, you can do it.
  18. I have asked questions like those on here before. Sure, I could Google the question and find out the answer, but by posting my question here, I get to engage with the AN community. It also opens up the conversation for others to add their personal opinions as well as the reasons behind the answer. Also, there are a lot of people on here that do enjoy sharing their knowledge and answering silly questions for those of us that have no clue. So, sure I could probably google some of my stupid questions, but then why would I come here? I enjoy reading other people's questions and answers.
  19. One of the most dumbest for sure :)
  20. Thanks for the advice. It was really appreciated while trying to make a decision. I have decided on the full time Practical Nursing program at Mohawk for Sept 2016. Hopefully I will get to meet some other forum members there. Thanks again. :)
  21. I have tried so hard to stay out of this conversation, as I am sure that ANY response given by ANYONE can and will be found offensive by others. But, with that being said..... As a Canadian, the thought of members of the general population legally carrying firearms scares and confuses me. It almost scares me to the point of feeling as though I NEED a gun of my own for protection when visiting the Americans. The fact that so many people are secretly carrying weapons for "safety" makes me feel extremely UNSAFE. Would having a gun of my own increase my feeling of security? Or would it just help spread the fear to others?
  22. That's great. Good luck with everything. :)
  23. My Mistake. I am taking it online through Mohawk.
