How is everyone liking it so far? I got my web cam late last week, went on a quick weekend trip, and then studied all day yesterday. I just passed my first OA (Care of the older adult). I start biochemistry next. I hope everyone is enjoying WGU. So far, I am!

I was finally able to get in that Facebook group haha! Apparently the admins messaged me but it went to "other" instead of Facebook messenger. I just had to send my start date and WGU email address and I was approved. Seems very helpful so far! I passed my PA for Care of the older adult too but I am still waiting for the web cam to come in . I hope it's soon. I think I will request to take it next week maybe! My mentor has my anticipated graduation for May 2017 and I am hoping to be in a masters program somewhere else by that time haha! I only need 32 credits so Hopefully I can finish this in 9 months tops.

Congrats! I became an LPN in 2010 and started finishing up my pre requisites as soon as I graduated. I worked in a clinic for two years with not so great pay and the hours did not work for me to go back (to start an actual classroom based program) immediately. I finished my anatomy and micro in 2013 and started a weekend LPN-RN bridge in 2014. I graduated in May 2015 and just started an RN-BSN bridge three days ago. I worked throughout the RN program (except the last two semesters--- I could have done it, I just decided to focus on school). Best of luck! You can do it!

I feel like I may have gone to the same school as you. I had several awful experiences at my school (all administrative issues) and the records department made a few clerical errors with my name this summer. They were using another student with the same name as me and it ended up causing me to get my ATT number several weeks after everyone else because of it. I was stressed, anxious, and mad but after making a few calls to the dean of nursing and health sciences it was fixed rather quickly. I hope it works out for you, good luck on the nclex . Even with my delay, I passed it so there is a silver lining somewhere. Did you go to TSU by chance?

I'm in middle Tennessee starting at $22.55/hr as a new Grad RN. I have a few years of prior LPN experience so I started out a little higher than a new graduate for this particular hospital. I'll also get shift differential for weekends. Good luck with your interview

You're welcome. I know they do information meetings a couple times a year, and attending one is part of the application process but your friend can get a lot of other information at that too. It really is a great program!

Hi! I went through that program a few years ago. I'm not sure if anything has changed, but I had a ton of pre-req's done already for an RN program but decided to go to tcat (it was ttc then) because I could go for free there. There are no pre-req's. I had to take an entrance test (my class took the NET) but I think they do the compass now. As far as I know applicants are chosen based on the highest scoring tests. I had class M-F from 8 am to 245ish? (I think). I started 9/1 and graduated 8/24. We had clinical at gateway for mainly med surg, cardiac, icu, OB, and surgery. My psych rotation was at an assisted living home with a lock down unit. My PEDS rotation was at a children's clinic. The bulk of all clinical rotations was mainly med/surg. We went three days a week. I really enjoyed the program and recommend it to people all the time. Best of luck

I'm not entirely sure, however the RN program I graduated from did a Kaplan exit exam and there were many different versions. We had three chances to pass before graduation (I had to take all three and they were all different). Some students took it up to five more times after graduation and I heard they were all different as well. We had to make a 70 to graduate/be eligible for the NCLEX. It was very challenging. I finally passed on the third try with a 74%. 150 questions each version. I passed after doing the entire q-bank and using a hurst content study guide. Good luck.

I didn't like my Kaplan review course either. We took it three months before graduation which meant it helped even less for me haha. I completed everything at that time and did not use it again after I passed my Kaplan exit exam the month before graduation. I used Lacharity and Hurst to study for the NCLEX-RN and passed on the first try with 75 questions. I thought Kaplan was MUCH harder than the NCLEX. I am just thankful to be done with the NCLEX and Kaplan forever

I would tell my 19 year old self to go to class . Retaking classes later in life is no fun.
