So because of time constraints, if I am unable to complete a year of experience before my MSN, are there any PMHNP programs that do not require any experience before starting it? Of those, which are cheap and possibly shorter? Thanks

Canadian bsn wanting to do shortest PMHNP program
Really? Oh my, so how do students in direct entry programs get to go directly into their masters programs without any psych nursing experience? I have psych experience in research and with patients in a mental health clinic in an administrative capacity and also with my Honors BSC in psychology, but as a nurse, no I would have to get that :s

Canadian bsn wanting to do shortest PMHNP program
Hi there, A little about myself, this is my first post and Iam a student currently starting a BSN program in Canada which will be done in December of 2017. After that, I want to be able to do a quick and chepeast masters in PMHNP in the States. Border states would be great as I heard that they have lower tuition rates for Canadians and fastest is good as well. However, Iam confused if I should do brick and mortar PMHNP programs or online ones as I don't know where I would do the clinicals if I did an Online program First of all, which program might be best for me? Brick and Mortar or Online ones as would they allow me to do my clinicals in Canada, and even if they did, we have no huge plethora of mental health NPs in Canada, so I wouldn't even know, would that experience count as valid when I apply for licensure as a PMHNP in the States even if I did the clinicals in Canada? Second,I know that if I have to do Clinicals in the States, I have to have a license in the State I do the Masters in (if I do Brick and Mortar programs) and if I do an Online Program, I know I need to do Clinicals in my home state (but I have no home state as Iam a Canadian!) If Iam doing an online program, can I easily get licensed in Minnesotta after I graduate from Ontario and do my Clinicals there after I graduate? would it be possible for me to find a preceptor that fast in Minessotta; knowing no one there before I go there at all? Or is it just safe to do a Brick and Mortar program for a Canadian like me anyway since it secures me local clinicals that I cannot secure on my own? Lastly, are there more Universities like D'Youville College that do favours on Canadians and accept the Ontario RN license for their FNP program ( I want to do the PMHNP)? Lastly, if Iam bound to do a brick and mortar program, which states can I easily be licensed in with an Ontario (Canadian BSN) like Minesotta, that I can then look at to see which shortest PMHNP brick and mortar programs they offer to select one and be done with this. and SUPER LASTLY, lol...What are some 1 year long or shortest PMHNP programs that are accredited across the country. I know it is a lot of questions, but Iam really hoping someone can help me out here. Thankyou allnurses! lakshma3
